I have been dating a girl for a little over a year, she is a childhood/family friend. I am only 24 btw. She was just a Fuckbuddy and then things escalated. I could easily tell she was highly attracted to me when we began dating, and I honestly didn’t care much, which probably made her want to chase me more. Over the past months, feelings of insecurity started to creep up on me. I started becoming paranoid about who she gets texts from, what she did when she didn’t hang out with me, and I noticed I have become too dependent on her. I don’t bring up this insecurities, I try my best to keep my cool and not assume bad things until I see them. These are the same scarcity feelings I have had in the past with other girls.
What I would usually is that I would just go out and see other girls to get rid of that scarcity. With my current girlfriend, I am scared to offend her by doing that, and I don’t want to lie or be unfaithful to her. I don’t want to fall into the “I actually like this one” frame/perspective, but it seems like it is too late, lol. I deal with anxiety, and I am sure it is my problem, not hers. It is something I need to work out, and get my shit together.
I had a talk with her about feeling a bit stressed because I am learning to be vulnerable with her, and she cried in appreciation. It seems that she still loves me, but I am scared if I drag this too long, she will get tired of it. I am constantly looking for validation, checking my phone, and feeling insecure still. Also, some of that insecurity might be that I feel like she doesn’t open up about her own problems as much, it may not be easy if she has a rough past, and it makes me assume she has lost interest in the relationship when she might just be stressed out about something else. I have this NEED for her to be more expressive about her problems, and just more expressive in gerenal. It makes me feel like she is invested more, and she trusts me. She also has some weird/slutty friends, and none are in stable relationships. This makes me feel like they could be a bad influence, but once I brought this up and she said she has friends of all kinds, which is fair.
I know what my options are, A. Break up with her, or B. Accept it. I certainly still love this girl, but these feelings are really uncomfortable to deal with. I have a feeling that trying to work things out would be better for me. It would either A) teach me to open up and relate from a more vulnerable place, or B) crush my ego when things don’t work out and I would rise up from the ashes. I don't want to have the quitter mentality.
All day at work this bothered me seriously to the point I was distracted. I feel a lot of anger and frustration mostly at myself for allowing myself to be so affected by this. Am I really that fucking shallow? Can I gain more abundance in any other way that would not be cheating? Any Input.

I grew up in a beautiful suburb called Scarsdale, New York. All the homes were great, the backyards were big. It was super safe, and it was just a beautiful place to grow up.
I remember when I was 14 years old, every Friday and Saturday night my parents had plans with other couples. It was the suburban thing to do. I would babysit my brother and sister and my parents would go out to dinner on a Friday night with the Rothenbergs or the Portnoys.

The Saturday night routine for kids my age at that time was watching The Loveboat and Fantasy Island on television.
Fantasy Island was always really extremely dull and boring. I never really enjoyed Fantasy Island, never really thought it was a great show. So right around 10:00 at night I would go downstairs to the party. The men would be in the living room. First you have the “fucking years” and then there’s the “complaining years.” My mom’s friends were all in the complaining years. Most of them were not having great sex with their husbands anymore and a lot of them were on a quest to have a great lover once again, so they would talk naughty and dirty.
And that’s where my greatest education came in. I’d sit around with Vicky Moranski, who was 29 and a half. She would tell me how to eat a woman’s pussy .
