How To Find The Perfect Private ADHD Titration On The Internet
Private ADHD Titration
There is a national shortage of medications to treat ADHD symptoms. This is due both to manufacturing issues and an increase in demand worldwide.
Our service offers private ADHD titration instead of waiting for NHS funding through Right to Choose. Our assessment fees include the cost of one prescription.
Titration
A highly experienced consultant psychiatrist will conduct a thorough assessment of your ADHD. This includes medical history and an assessment using the common ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.
Following your assessment you will be advised if medication is considered to be beneficial in your particular situation. This will be discussed during your follow-up appointment (which can be done in person via video link or by phone). Your clinician will explain the various options for medication and, if you decide to start on medication we will offer to titrate dosage to ensure the balance of benefits and side effects for you.
This process could take a few weeks and involves adjusting the dosage of your child's medication slowly until the right balance is achieved. It's not uncommon to need to titrate three or four medications before determining the most effective one for your child's ADHD symptoms. It is important that parents take part in the titration and be aware of their child's behavior, so they can let the doctors know whether the medication is working or causing adverse reactions.
Unless you have decided to return to NHS care and have decided to return to NHS care, your medication will be issued with an individual prescription that you will need to pay for at the pharmacy (this is not included in your consultation fees). You must attend six-monthly appointments to check your medication. This includes the measurement of pulse and blood pressure. Annual checks are also required.
Follow-up appointments
Once the assessment has been completed you will be able to book follow-up appointments with the psychiatrist, as necessary. The appointment is usually done via zoom video call. However, in certain instances, it could be possible for an audio-only consultation to be scheduled (again at an additional cost).
At this point we will discuss any treatment options and decide on a custom-made ADHD medication titration program. This will include an assessment of your medication dosage and a discussion around any negative side effects you may be experiencing. These titrations cost PS150 for face-to-face sessions, and PS60 by video or phone consultation. The pharmacy will be charged for any charges for medication.

The psychiatrist will ask you questions about your family history and the impact of your ADHD symptoms on your daily life and any mental health issues that you might be suffering from. titration ADHD meds can be a hereditary condition, and it's vital to examine your family history in order to determine if you are at a greater chance of developing this condition.
During this assessment it is essential to be truthful and open with the doctor who will use the information you provide to determine whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. This is an essential step in the process since a failure to do so could result in an inaccurate diagnosis, and thus an incorrect prescribing of medication.
If you have decided that you would like to be treated for your ADHD We will set up a follow-up appointment with one of our psychiatrists that specialize in this area. This can be done in the wake of your diagnosis if are keen to begin treatment right away or within two weeks if want to consider the implications of your diagnosis and the alternatives available to you.
We suggest that if are unsure of your preferences, you talk to your GP prior to booking your private examination. Some providers have different policies on whether or not they require an GP letter. We also recommend to check if your GP accepts a 'Shared Care Agreement', which means that once you are discharged from the clinic you will be returned to them for the medication prescription.
Medication
Medication is a key element of the process for many who are seeking an official ADHD diagnosis. It can be difficult to get a prescription from a psychiatrist on the NHS. NHS waiting lists can be extremely long and GPs might be reluctant to refer patients to specialist services.
One method to avoid this is to ask your GP to refer you through Right to Choose (see psychiatry-uk and ADHD 360). This means that you can select one that provides a private assessment and titration service. This can help you save time and be more convenient, particularly when you are on a tight work schedule.
After you have been referred, your clinician will examine you to determine if require medication adjustment. You will need to fill out forms that vary by doctor but the most frequent ones are self-reporting questionnaires and medical histories going to your childhood and into adulthood. These forms will help your clinician determine if there are any reasons that suggest you shouldn't be taking ADHD medication, when they've been prescribed.
If you are being titrated on medication, it is likely to be a combination of stimulants and non-stimulant medications. These will be thoroughly examined and monitored to determine the right combination for you. The titration procedure can be a lengthy process and may require several extra appointments before you are stable.
The frequency of your follow-up appointments is contingent on the type and amount of medication you're taking. They can be monthly or quarterly. This will involve your clinician checking to see if you are stable on the medication, recording any side effects you've experienced and making any adjustments needed to ensure that you remain on a safe dosage. You will be required to attend an annual review as well as a routine health exam that includes blood pressure, pulse, and weight measurements.
Some people might be satisfied with their treatment and therefore do not require discussing their titration further. However, for those who require further discussion about the titration process and treatment plan, it is possible that they will be referred back to the same private clinic that made their initial assessment. If this happens, the titration appointment will be part of their consultation fee, and they will receive their medication through private prescription (see Consultation fees above). This can cost more than an NHS prescription as the pharmacy will charge for the medication.
