The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It could get stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.
The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households however, it can also fit perfectly next to the coffee table or a bookshelf where you can move it around like an enchanted tool.
The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to the task. It can quickly switch between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
This model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also provides an easy access to two attachments as well as an Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. The claims of its marketing that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a typical, not an exceptional, run time for a battery-powered cordless vac. This is still enough to clean most of a home that's average size however, it's not enough to clean every spot (though an additional run-through often does the trick). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It's capable of sucking up most kinds of debris in our tests, and it often passes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, as it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode on its own and has physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and performs better on low-pile and bare floors.

The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is simple to use and understand, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a problem for some buyers.
