How Best 3 Wheel Pushchair Transformed My Life For The Better

Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain pushchair that provides lightweight durability and great maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold makes it's lightweight and also freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines to a nearly flat position, and there's an enormous storage bin and canopy. Newborn suitability? Yes with an additional carrycot.

Good suspension and air-filled tyres will handle rough terrain well. You can also use it to jog. However, you must wait until your baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant choice for parents who want a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. It comes as a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear-facing pushchair seat as well as a choice of a car seat, meaning you can get everything in one package.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to see why it has received praise from customers. It's incredibly light - the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg and it's extremely simple to build. I was able get it up and running in just five minutes. That's amazing considering that it included the fabric for the carrycot to be attached.

The seat is wide and comfortable for Annie, who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was easy to operate. There's plenty of space in the basket too and I am awestruck by the fact that it has a zip-up compartment in the handle bar so you can keep your phone and keys secure!

The only slight downside is that the handlebar is quite low, which could be a problem for taller parents. It's covered with a soft, comfortable leather-like material, which is easy to wipe down.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is a great choice for parents who love to explore and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on forest and field paths and the front wheel can be rotated and locked for extra versatility. It also has a padded 5-point safety harness and a front bar to keep your little one secure on all journeys, while the parking brake effectively stops the stroller from moving while you are taking a break. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit the needs of dad or mum.

The Runner will accompany you on any adventure whether it's a short walk, a longer hike or a long distance trek. It comes with a lay-flat seat that has suspension air wheels that provide smooth and comfortable riding. The front wheel can be locked to provide more stability on narrow streets and crowded sidewalks, and the stroller folds easily to fit into car boot spaces and storage areas.

Some parents have reported that the Runner 2 to be a bit harder to navigate than its predecessor and the locking system isn't as user-friendly (requiring two buttons on either side of the push bar). The handlebars are higher than those of some competitors, and therefore may not be suitable for smaller parents. However the stroller is durable and versatile, and is worth considering by active families.

pushchairsandprams pacing

The Pace is a different great product from Red Kite, an affordable British brand which is known for its easy-to-use and simple essentials for parents. It's their newest and most expensive addition to their bargain lightweight stroller line. Similar to the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it's car seat compatible so you can use it from the time of birth.

The new Pace boasts some fantastic design features, including the rose gold tint of the hood, chassis and stroller trims that really set it apart from its competition. The stroller and car seat fabrics are stylish in grey, tan, and cream. You can also add the handle in leather and the bumper bar to complement.

The stroller seat can be used from birth to 22kg. It easily converts to a two-in-one reversible position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat has several lie-back positions, plus soft padded legs rests, and an extended sun canopy with concealed zip sections with a view-through flap, and retractable visor.

When folded, the Pace measures 56 inches x 43cm and 32 inches, which allows it to be used as hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. Two buttons on either side are easy use and click into place.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Created to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo's new Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis has a shorter wheel width, making it more manoeuvrable than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two kids eight weeks old and a toddler - on rocky roads along with grassy wooded trails and even cobblestones.

The puncture-proof wheels are big - 22cm and 30cm - which means they can handle many different terrains. They also come with a handy flap that can open or closes to allow more air in should you need it and is a nice addition. It's a bit larger than most pushchairs, but it does not feel heavy or bulky when you push it over bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat can be machine washed and the faux leather grips and frame are easy to clean. It's also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt at ease in the city streets. It comes with accessory points that allow you to attach footmuffs and parasols along with changing bags or snack trays, and even snack trays. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, but it isn't particularly waterproof. It's a single pram, but you can add their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child a bit of leg room. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set-up, and it took about the same amount of time to convert it into an actual seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

No matter if you're enjoying a morning jog under the stars or a moonlit stroll in the crisp air, the UPPAbaby Ridge transforms every moment into a fun experience for all. This jogging stroller is all-terrain and has been optimized for performance to keep your child and you active.

The large foam-filled 12" and 16 "tires offer smooth rides regardless of the terrain. The suspension is patented, allowing you to glide over trails with little impact on your child's legs and rear. The handbrake that is designed for performance lets you stop quickly even while running on an uphill slope.

The Ridge is at home in all city scenes including bustling market stalls for farmers to street musicians performing music. Its large basket is big enough to hold your finds from the market and all the essentials for your baby and the spacious canopy offers sun and wind protection. The large front canopy opens to reveal two peekaboo windows that allow you to observe your baby's surroundings.

The Ridge's reversible seat allows you to decide whether your child will face you or the world ahead and its easy foot brake system is easy for new parents. One of the best features is the reversible handlebar, which lets you adjust it to your height and preferences. And unlike some jogging strollers, the Ridge's fold is reliable and stays self-standing while folded.

iCandy Core

The new iCandy pushchair comes with a variety of features that will be awe-inspiring to parents. It has a Multi-Mode wheelbase as well as an LED Visibility Hub light that's the first of its kind in the market. It comes with a built-in Ride-on Board that helps reduce future costs and lets tired toddlers join the family when they go on excursions.

The Core is available as an entire travel system or as a single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, such as the ones from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It also has the largest seat in the iCandy range, so it can last through your baby's first years and beyond. As with all iCandy pushchairs, this one is luxuriously designed and is made of premium knitted jersey fabric. The parent's adjustable handlebar and child's bumper bar that can be detached are made of soft leatherette. The folding calf support folds away and is super comfortable for children.

I was amazed by how easy it is to fold and collapse. It only takes one hand, even with the seat unit attached. And it fits easily into your boot and hallway making it ideal for travel. The iCandy Core includes a variety of accessories, like a matching changing rucksack or footmuff/liner.
