Houston's main bullpen, following DS, CS is also 'frustrated by injury'

Right-handed pitcher Kendall Graveman's participation in the Championship Series (CS) was thwarted.

ESPN, an American sports channel, reported on the 15th (Korean time) that 'Graveman will not be included in the roster for the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Texas Rangers due to pain in his right shoulder.' Graveman was unable to play in the Division Series (DS) due to related issues. There was a lot of interest in whether he would be able to participate in CS, but it was ultimately not decided. Houston coach Dusty Baker indirectly explained Graveman's situation, saying, "His condition has not improved." CBS Sports of the United States said, 'There is still a possibility that Graveman will return in time for the World Series (WS), but for that to happen, significant progress must be made relatively early.'

Graveman is a bullpen resource acquired through a trade last July. This season's records include 68 games, 5 wins, 6 losses, 13 holds, 8 saves, and an ERA of 3.12. After the transfer, he posted an ERA of 2.42 in 23 games. His career (9 years) Major League (MLB) record is 37 wins, 43 losses, 24 saves, and an ERA of 3.95. Houston, which achieved the great goal of advancing to CS for 7 consecutive years, could have strengthened its bullpen depth (player base) if Graveman returned, but it failed.

Houston will play the first CS game against Texas at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, USA on the 16th. Houston's starting pitcher is ace Justin Verlander (13 wins, 8 losses, 3.22 ERA). For Texas, Jordan Montgomery (10 wins, 11 losses, 3.20 ERA) takes the mound.
