My desktop Outlook has suddenly ‘lost’ its Inbox folder (!!!) as of today Nov 22nd – it just disappeared from the folders list. As I tried to repair it, things only got worse, because Outlook now refuses to connect to the Exchange server. Switch to Gmail it is dependable and easy to use.
Switching to gmail, this is ridiculous! I haven’t been able to access my email since the change. Its such an inconvenience I have used this email for everything for the past 5 years and now I’m told my only option is to set up a new email account. I will be avoiding all microsoft products in future and encouraging others to do the same. I too have not been able to log into my Hotmail account for over a week. Outlook is absolute rubbish I want my hotmail back and soon.
I need it to find out when a dear friend’s funeral will be held this week. I ping test hotmail.com and hte ping test comes back fine , with an average of 28ms. I try logging in again and the login page will not load. I am completely baffled, I was in the middle of writing an email, an important one, time sensitive, and hotmail crashes. My outlook/ hotmail has been down since last Friday.
With one of my hotmail addresses anytime I sign in, they ask me to identify some letters in a box, I do it and then the same keeps happening and I never get to sign in. I’d like to know why and if u can PLEASE help me resolve it. Somebody has hacked my account and changed all my credentials.

I even tried setting up POP and IMAP connections and they don’t work either. It’s like the connector software between outlook and outlook.com no longer recognizes my Hotmail identity. Both work fine on PC but one won’t send or receive mail on my Blackberry. Tried deleting and re-adding the account to my sync hub but still nothing. The strange thing is that I had 2 hotmail accounts in Thunderbird. One has stopped working, the other is okay!
