She wanted to go for an evening swim. I just wanted - needed - to watch her in that unbelievable sexy bikini. We both got our way that night.
My wife is gorgeous and one of a kind, and I couldn't possibly be more proud of my beautiful wife. Of course that didn't stop me from taking compromising pictures while she wasn't looking.

I let my wife of 17 years go on a vacation with her girlfriend a couple of months ago.
When she came home said it was fun, said she missed me and that she would not travel without me again.
Fast forward to a couple of days ago, we get a new phone for her, and I am tasked with transferring all her info from the old one to the new one.
As I’m figuring out everything making sure all the passwords are right, I start browsing her various message apps. Found out she slept with a black man while she was on vacation.
Lately, we had a sexual awakening of sorts and were exploring new things, and I had toyed with the idea of another partner for her and me as a sort of bucket list kind of thing, and she took this to mean that it was ok.
However, when she was away, she was sending me some messages alluding that she might do this, and I was not receptive to it because I was not ready, and I thought she understood. It turns out I was sending her “mixed messages,” or at least that is how she tried to explain it to me.
So after my initial shock over the situation, I started digging deeper and saw that she was messaging a couple of her friends “bragging” about what she did and “joking” about having them keep me busy while she did it again.
You see, we are/were supposed to go on vacation to the same spot in a couple of months with these friends.
So I’ve confronted her about all of this and pretty much told her that I could forgive the incident with time and conversation. But the messaging back and for to her girlfriends about it and doing it again is tearing me up.
I don’t know what to do, we have two kids that don’t deserve a broken home, but she has severely eroded my trust in her.
She agrees that she screwed up, but I have a feeling she is not over this.
Not looking for sympathy, I don’t feel like confiding in anyone I know about this yet due to my embarrassment and shame.
Please share any insight you might have.

At least you dare to admit that you first introduced this idea to her.
Yes, perhaps she thought you did not care if she took her opportunity while on vacation.
I agree that the messages to her friends were likely just as hurtful, if not more so.
It may be some passive-aggressive slight because she feels you brought up the open relationship concept, and then when she did it, you became annoyed.
I do think a lot of men think it is ok for the man to have a new partner, but when the woman does, they can not handle it.
I think if you discuss this with a marriage counselor, they may point this out.
Lastly, I think boys only or girls only vacations are a recipe for disaster unless you are truly ok with you and your wife being in an open relationship and having sex with other people.
As for the vacation, do not go with these friends. You will be too paranoid, given the messages you found.
Do take the vacation together. But go somewhere completely different and far from her lady friends.
If the vacation has already been paid for, find another hotel far from those ladies and do not allow her to meet up with them.
I can empathize with your feelings of mistrust and embarrassment. I, too, could have coped with the “once” incident, but when you find out that friends are confided in and facilitate the betrayal, it compounds stuff in your head.
“Once” equaled months of deceit in my case and the so-called friends covered for my wife.
Vacation excitement and feeling of freedom with these so-called friends made your wife open up a discussion with you about previously private conversations. So do not take any share that you were to blame for initially opening up this area of exploration.
It is one thing discussing this at home between yourselves. It is quite another for her to discuss with friends on vacation [oh no doubt she did] to gain their support, encouragement, and silence.
Yes, children do not need a broken home, but when you open a pandora’s box and try to explore a sexually open arrangement, do you think in time your children will not find out and be confused.
If it’s not too late, I believe you need to seek counseling as a couple, maybe even to help you split without too much trauma on the children. I thought I could get over my wife’s indiscretion, but when friends keep asking, “how are things now?”
It became too much, and the best thing happened [in hindsight], and we both found happiness.
She definitely cheated. So, do you want to live with a cheater? You really cannot ever fully trust her again.
Have you considered doing the same to her? It seems symmetrical, and she really would have no standing to object. After all, shouldn’t your life contain a similar amount of pleasure and excitement as she does?
Why should she bank such a wonderful experience while you have to be satisfied with just her? Aren’t you equally deserving?
The option of having my own time alone with another lady has been offered to make me happy.
The problem is even though it is exciting and I would most likely enjoy it, it’s not going to make up for the feelings of betrayal I have.
