A SORORITY at Indiana University Bloomington has been suspended following new claims that pledges were hazed with a “blow or blow” game.
Kappa Kappa Gamma's Delta Chapter had young women choose between giving oral sex to men or snorting cocaine during a pledge event last February, a former member of the sorority told the Indiana Daily Student .
The former member, Langdon Willoughby, 19, said sorority sisters wearing lingerie and holding wooden paddles led her and other pledges into a dark basement where they were expected to do one of the “blow” activities.
The sorority sisters distributed rubber bands for the pledges to tie up their hair and told them that fraternity members were on their way.
“Get on your knees! The boys are coming,” shouted one of the senior sisters, according to Willoughby.
Willoughby said she tried to escape the basement or ask for help but that all cell phones were taken away from the pledges.
The pledges did not end up having to perform sex acts or take drugs, as the senior sisters told them they were “just kidding.”
Two other women at the pledge event confirmed Willoughby’s story and one of them said that the game was meant as their punishment for being “the worst pledge class ever.”
After Willoughby provided her account to the school newspaper last week, the university suspended the sorority’s operations.
The sorority’s national organization said in a statement that the chapter “is one of our longest-standing chapters, yet we will not stand by while instances of violence or the threat of violence are perpetuated among our membership.”
“The health and safety of our members are always our top priority,” the national organization stated.
Willoughby claimed that one of the sorority sisters hit her on her back using a paddle and ran around the cellar laughing about it.
Besides the hazing event, Willoughby said she experienced racism as the only black woman in the sorority house.
Willoughby said she left the sorority at 1018 East Third Street last summer and went public with her account to draw attention to hazing events at sororities.
Kappa Kappa Gamma's Delta Chapter has previous complaints over how they treated pledges.
In 2019, a pledge class member said she and others were told to face a wall in the basement for 15 minutes as a woman screamed and criticized them in front of drunk senior sisters clad in lingerie and heels.
Two years prior to that, pledges were apparently told to run naked in the woods.

The scavenger hunt that got a sorority booted from Lehigh University's Pennsylvania campus until 2020 reveals a list of activities women were instructed to partake in, including sexual activities.
The Alpha Chi Omega sorority sisters at Lehigh University were encouraged to 'ski pole two boys' which is slang for manually stimulating two men at once, as well as 'hooking up with an Uber driver.' Another task told participants to drink bong water, and yet another told the women to participate in threesomes.
The list, which was reported by Total Frat Move , was used for a December sorority event and circulated online. The university ruled that the 77 tasks had violated the school's Code of Conduct.
This is the graphic scavenger hunt list the Alpha Chi Omega sorority sisters at Lehigh University asked women to participate in during a December event
The Alpha Chi Omega's Theta Chi chapter has lost its recognition at Lehigh University for two years after a 'reprehensible' scavenger hunt that involved drugs, alcohol and sexual activity
'Lehigh University expects all students to uphold community standards and act in a manner that reflects the university's Code of Conduct. Violations of these expectations, which are in place to foster a safe, respectful environment for all members of the Lehigh community, will result in consequences,' the university said in a statement.
The Alpha Chi Omega's Theta Chi chapter has lost its recognition at Lehigh University for two years and will be banned from campus up until May 2020.
The ban was put in place after the sorority hosted a December scavenger hunt in which participants were given a list of tasks that involved 'the use of drugs and alcohol, sexual activity and other activities'.
It was in violation of the Bethlehem school's policy, according to the Lehigh Greek Community blog published by the university.
The sorority was suspended in December following reports of the hunt and evidence of part of the scavenger list.
'The chapter proceeded to cooperate and turn over additional evidence, including the remainder of the scavenger hunt list and documented examples of members' completed tasks,' the university said.
A disciplinary committee investigating the incident called the scavenger hunt 'reprehensible.'
They said there was evidence to suggest the hunt had been going on for years.
The ban was put in place after the sorority (above) hosted a December scavenger hunt in which participants were given a list of tasks including drug use and alcohol
'The panel is deeply concerned about the escalated nature of the content of this year's list and we are unconvinced that this escalation wouldn't continue,' the committee said.
'This incident was a significant, reprehensible event that the entire chapter was aware of and leadership endorsed.'
By the time the sorority will be allowed to resume at Lehigh University, the students involved in the scavenger hunt will have graduated.
The national organization conducted an investigation resulting in probation and individual punishments for hazing and other related offenses.

Summit Entertainment is releasing Sorority Row in just a few short weeks, meaning that lots of newly initiated college freshmen will get the chance to see for themselves how silly movie depictions of college life are. Of course, Sorority Row seems deliberately sillier than others. The horror movie follows a group of sorority sisters (all of whom are sexy, naturally) as they are stalked by someone who knows their terrible secret: they accidentally helped kill their fellow sister. Typical college dilemma, really.
No one should go into this movie expecting anything but fun, slightly schlocky entertainment, and to prove the point, Summit has provided us with three new clips from the film, including the opening three minutes. While the two red-band clips feature two sisters and their gory death scenes, the green-band one is the most interesting, showing just how quickly the plot gets going. The credits have barely ended and the girls are already executing the scheme that gets them in all this trouble.
Check out all three, R-rated, adults only clips below once you're past the age-gate. Sorority Row comes out September 11.
