I'm always looking out for a good comedy to add to my collection, picked up one more
The hype about the Top Gun sequel made me revisit Hot Shots!. I hadn't seen it in decades and my memories were a little too rosy. It's not a bad spoof on Top Gun, but it carries the Abrahams trademark of a never-ending machine gun volley of gags, most of which are not worth the paper they're written on. Since I don't really know the Rambo series, I don't think its worthwhile my watching Part Deux. The formula is clear enough and the spoof elements will be lost on me.
For whatever reason, this was the movie (part 2) my brother and I would always watch when we were kids and went to stay with my Dad for a couple days. My Dad got it on VHS for like $4 when we ordered a large pizza or something weird like that. The VHS is long gone somewhere but now I've got the DVD and I'm good to go for a few more years. A little bit of nostalgia, haha!
These movies were part of my childhood growing up in the 1990s. Charlee Sheen is an amazing actor. Both these movies are parodies of "top gun" and "Rambo". If you are a fan of parody movies such as "scary movie" with Anna Farris you should also check these movies out too.
This funny slap stick uses adult comedy and classic slap stick that will leave you laughing. Done in the 90s it is a bit dated but more humorous than the slop they pass for comedies today.
These two were back to back very funny.... extremely good cast of characters from the 80s and Lloyd Bridges almost stole the show with his wacky sense of humor and his great "sight gags"..!!! However as I remember them they were better...but then I was younger and had different taste way back then... so all in all enjoyed both...just not as much as the first time seeing both..

Very much like movies that have a good laugh at movies that protray macho image some scenes are really funny and actors in a scene you would not expect them to do or hear them say lines of dialogue can be really funny would recommend these two films. highly recommend this seller quality of item excellent arrived on time very pleased with purchase

Enjoyable, but NOT in this set!
The title, once again, pretty much sums up my opinion regarding this set comprising two films that had given spoof films a huge boost in their time. The films have achieved somewhat cult status in the eyes of their patrons, and I must agree that during my first viewing I had found both of the movies (esp. "Part Deux") quite hillarious. But after that, I found that some of the one-liners (accompanied by Charlie Sheen and Valeria Goleno's facial expressions) got etched into my mind pretty strongly, while the gags kept getting thinner. However, even with these issues, I would have rated the set pretty highly had the films remained uncut, but for some strange reason the films appeared to have lost significant footage (esp. "Part Deux") in this set that reduced their value considerably. Therefore, the movies are recommended, but not this set. Get them individually, and have a laugh.

I actually bought this sorry these films for my pupil to release the stress of exam studying. There is nothing like a good laugh to relieve the tension and believe me both of these films are soooooooo funny. Charlie Sheen rocks as Topper Harley. If I was to describe these films I would let the cat out of the bag so just watch them but a caution they can produce stomach pains.

Awesomely unawesome
Very pleased with the picture quality, and the delivery time period. It arrived far quicker than I realised, just found it lying on my bed! But what let me down is that one of my favourite scenes had been deleted. The limo and sex scene are the most memorable, and halarious by far in comparison to the others. Very displeased, don't buy this item, just wait until it's on TV or pop down a shop that sells second hand DVD's such as Blockbuster. An awesome DVD, made unawesome just because a few scenes were deleted, what a shame...

cut versions of classic films
the hot shots films are amazing but these are the edited versions of the films. the originals were rated 15 but if you look at the box these are rated PG. a huge scene from part 2 is totally cut out. look elsewhere and buy the proper versions.

In HOT SHOTS! PART DEUX Topper Harley (Charlie Sheen) reluctantly returns to action at the behest of Tug Benson (Lloyd Bridges), who is now the President of the United States. Dispatched on a RAMBO-esque adventure, Topper becomes part of a commando team sent into enemy territory to rescue American P.O.W.'s who were captured by an evil dictator during Desert Storm. Although funny, the movie misses the mark with its foul language and offensive sexual situations, and its comic-book violence becomes excessive at times, particularly for young viewers.
