Rio… even half the name of Rio de Janeiro has more sex appeal than most cities can summon on their very best days. So, what in the name of Hugh Heffner and the Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Issue makes Rio de Janeiro, Brazil so incredibly sexy?
Rio’s reputation for sexiness is extraordinary. The only other large cities in the world that might be able to stand on an equal footing with Rio as centers of romance, sexual liberation, and general debauchery are Paris, France, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
But Paris is more about romance and Vegas is more about debauchery, well, at least if you have the friends I do. And neither of them has quite the aura of Rio de Janeiro.
The world’s other great world cities are not even close. Vienna is romantic, but not at all sexy. Bangkok is easily the sexiest city in Asia, but it is not particularly romantic.
Pre-revolutionary Havana was in the picture before Fidel and his boys came down out of the hills in ’59. Havana is currently a white-hot center for international dating , but it is not a world class metropolitan sex symbol at this point. In ten years, after Raul Castro is buried, perhaps it will return to challenge Rio, but not now.
Perhaps, the only world city that is even in the zone is Odessa, Ukraine. It is romantic city with great restaurants, and charming old world architecture. It has beaches that might actually exceed Rio for the simple percentage of stunning women and the clubs and strip joints of Odessa more than meet the dictionary definition of debauchery, but the airport is worse than the airport in Odessa, Texas, and it can get down to twenty below in the winter. Those sexy beaches are closed seven months a year.
So, Rio de Janeiro wins hands down: it is the sexiest city in the world. There really is almost no competition.
Of course, the first ingredient to Brazils world class sex appeal is Brazilian women .  Trust me, you could put these ladies in Fairbanks, Alaska, and they would melt the glaciers they are just that hot. And yes, most fit the sultry Latin image – dark eyes, dark hair, light brown skin, and the justly famous Brazilian butt. That describes maybe seventy-five percent of Brazilian girls.
They are a mix of the original Portuguese settlers to the country in the 1500s, native Americans, and African slaves. The mix of these three main genetic streams is clear, but the is not the whole story.
From Brazil’s earliest days as a Portuguese colony Jews, Dutch, Spanish, and English settlers came in sporadic bursts, but the great wave of European immigration to Brazil started in the 19 th century. Italians, Germans, French, and English flooded into the country. After the American Civil War a sizeable number of defeated Southerners even settled in Brazil, the last major nation in the world to allow slavery.
Later thousands of Japanese were brought into work the sugar cane fields, and then another large influx of very quiet Germans arrived in the years after World War II. Then a sizeable portion of Arabs, first mostly from Lebanon, but later from across the Middle East came to Brazil beginning with the start of the Lebanese Civil War in the mid-1970s. Finally, in 1992 with the fall of the Soviet Union a decent number of highly skilled Russians and Ukrainians, mostly petroleum engineers, to move to the country.
This means that Rio girls are a very broad mixture of races and cultures. In some regards this is important. There really is not one cookie cutter sort of lady, but on the other hand it does not matter at all. Regardless, of their background in Rio all women are universally interested in fashion, fitness, and bragging about their man.
Yes, the specifics vary widely across the metropolis. How much money a woman has to spend impacts her fashion choices, but it does not affect her pride in wanting to look good.  And believe it or not Brazilian women turn bragging about their men into a national pastime.
In Rio women tend to be jealous and defensive about their man. (Don’t ask me why. This is just my impression.) And what makes it worse is that Rio women tend to travel in very small, so often Brazilian girls have known the guys in their circle of friends since grade school.
This makes a girl with a foreign boyfriend something special. And you can be certain that if you are in the middle of a happy relationship with a Brazilian girl she is going to tell all of her friends that you are taller, smarter, and far wealthier than you really are.
It can be pretty embarrassing, but just shut up and let her go on about your athletic prowess and sense of humor. Your dating value will increase as soon as you step off the plane at Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport .
Just relax and enjoy your situation. When you look at the women remember you’re a foreigner. These women want to meet you. Rio is a great city and Brazil is a beautiful country, but these women know that dating a foreign man can transform their lives.
So, the Brazilian bikini girls are amazing, but there are lots of towns with beautiful Latina’s, but nobody heads to El Paso or Yuma for vacation. Rio is different the climate, geography, and architecture all contribute to the city’s sex appeal.
First, the weather in Rio is always bikini weather . If you are living in Finland, Norway, or Minnesota follow that hyperlink and get ready to be jealous of Brazilians. In the winter the temperature can drop to a brutal 70 Fahrenheit or +21 Celsius.
That means that bikinis, short-shorts, and miniskirts are pretty much the basic building blocks of any Brazilian girl’s wardrobe. In this case, less is truly more.
And not only is the weather great there are miles of white sand beaches so people can enjoy the weather. Rio is a great beach town. In some respects, the original beach town. And it combines a European sensibility and with the relaxed vibe of a California beach town. It is just different.
There is a wide mixture of architecture and incredible array of great restaurants and cafes. Rio isn’t simply a great place to meet Brazilian women, it is also an excellent place for a vacation. With cool clubs, sunny beaches, great restaurants and majestic mountain top scenery it should be on anyone’s travel agenda when visiting South America.
Brazilian women can be divided up into three main groups.
Firstly there are the Favela women who make up around 75% of the population. The Favela’s are the slums of Rio and these women are poor by almost any standard. These women are easy to seduce and would love the opportunity to date a western man.
Unfortunately, they are usually not the most attractive women in Rio. Poor diet mixed with a limited wardrobe and no gym membership means that these women are often out of shape.
That said there are some real exceptions to this rule and most of the women of Rio have very good basic genetic material. If you want to create your own Cinderella story then the Favela of Rio would be a good place to start.
At the other end of the scale are the upper class Brazilian women. These are the most attractive women in Rio and are super hot compared to any almost any other country you could name. Long legged, beautiful tan skin and always perfectly dressed these are definitely the kind of girl you would love to have on your arm.
You can find these upper class Rio women mostly around the wealthy neighbourhoods of Leblon and Barra de Tijuca .The problem with attracting these women is that if anything it is more difficult than trying to pick up western women. They have high standards and are not as impressed by foreign men.
The real sweet spot of dating in Rio are the middle class girls. These women would love to have a foreign boyfriend and will be more than receptive to being approached. They have enough money to look after themselves but they are still impressed by the wealth and prestige of westerners. Most Brazilian Mail Order Brides come from this middle class.
The other reputation that Rio women have is for being promiscuous. And to the delight of western male visitors to the city there is some real truth to this rumour. Brazilian women will invariably make out with you on the first date and getting them into bed is not much harder either. These women just seem to have a higher sexual drive than their western counterparts.
Along with this they are also more forward. You should not be surprised if Brazilian women makes the first move and asks you if you would like to spend the night, even if you have only recently met.
This does not mean that you are not going to have to put any work in. You will still need to take her out, show her a good time, and generally seduce her. But you will find that you should be able to get women into bed faster and with more regularity than at home.
One of the best ways to approach women from Rio is to ask them for directions or if they know a good place to have a drink. From there the transition to meeting up or asking them for their phone number is generally pretty easy. As with women in any country you should be confident and relaxed in your approach.
Remember that in Rio you are something of a catch so you shouldn’t be afraid to be bold with your approach. Of course some women might turn you down (women in Rio sometimes have boyfriends or husbands as well) but overall if you approach a number of women you should find success.
One of the mistakes that many western men who visit Rio make is to start dating the first women that they meet.
It can be a little overwhelming for a man who is used to the difficulties of dating women in the United States or the UK with how easily a beautiful girl has fallen into their bed.
However there is plenty of opportunity in this city and so it is best practice to go out and get some more phone numbers and go on more dates before deciding to commit to one girl.
This is especially true if you are only in the city for a short time. If you do meet someone that you like get their details so that you are able to keep in contact when you get back home.
The two most popular beaches in Rio are Cocacabana and Ipanema . Ipanema tends to attract more upper class Brazilian women and is more packed with people. The quality of the eye candy is definitely higher in Ipanema.

At night time the clubs and restaurants of Ipanema are very busy, meaning that it is great place to have a good time but it can also be expensive.
Cococabana on the other hand tends to be less expensive but the quality of the women is not as high as it tends to attract middle and working class women and back packers. The streets surrounding Cococabana also are a little more shady and not as safe as around Ipanema.
If you are on a budget you will probably want to spend some time in Cococabana, but if you have money to spend or you are only in town for a short time then stick with Ipanema.
Rio is a very status conscious city. As a westerner you are going to have a natural advantage because it will be assumed that you are wealthy.
Rio women are always looking to move up and improve their station in life and so you will be a very attractive proposition. Girls from the Favela will be happy just to have dinner with you at a nice restaurant as this is far better than they would normally expect and a real treat for them.
To make the most of this natural advantage make sure to dress well and spend a little money. You don’t need to spend any money on the women you take in terms of presents, but provided your budget fits you should treat you and your date to a nice dinner out.
After all you are on vacation so you may as well enjoy yourself.
Of course you should expect to pick up the bill. Not only is Rio a traditional society where the man is meant to take care of the woman but also you have considerable more financial means than the women you will be dating.
Overall Rio is an easy place to meet women either for a casual fling or for a more serious relationship. Along with this the beaches provide plenty of visual entertainment and so it is a great place to relax and really enjoy yourself.
