Anime moms can shape the fate of just one character, or the entire narrative, so we've decided to honour the very best ones.
There are so many ways in which even the most mundane of settings have new life breathed into them with a form of storytelling unique only to anime , and nothing else. This can be seen in the various slice of life stories that have a narrative that only anime can depict, making it a different form of entertainment that is appealing in its own unique way. Even something that seems so normal like the concept of mothers can be turned on its head for something wholly unlike anything you could've ever thought to be the case.
This list commemorates some of the strongest moms in anime that have carved their way into our hearts with their unique characterizations and familiarity. Oh, and let's not mention the bunch that can easily kick butt if need be without even breaking so much as a sweat. From mental fortitude to physical superiority, these moms have broken down any preconceived barriers and shown that there is nothing that can stop them from becoming an unrelenting force who can achieve anything they put their mind to.

When one talks about one of the most iconic mothers in anime history, then Bulma from Dragon Ball is definitely at the top of this list. The fact that she's a part of one of the most popular anime series of all time certainly helps.
We've seen her grow from a teenager into a mother. Her relationship with Vegeta was something nobody could've predicted, and she's been more than a lovable mother to Trunks and Bulla in Vegeta's absence.
A major aspect of being a parent is sacrifice. There are many things that people enjoy that need to be forsaken when they have the added responsibility of taking care of a child.
Well, Carla Yaeger from Attack on Titan made the ultimate sacrifice. The sight of her being taken by a Titan still remains as one of the most memorable episode endings of all time. Coupling this with the fact that this happened in the very first episode of Attack On Titan , and you have a recipe for greatness.
Perhaps one of the most loving mothers on this list, the emotional fortitude displayed by Hana in Wolf Children is second to none. Taking care of one child is hard enough, but Hana needs to take care of two!
Oh, and these two kids can also randomly transform into wolves. It's an odd premise that could only work out in anime, and watching this endearing mother provide a constant and unwavering level of love to her children is one of the most heartwarming things you can witness.
At a glance, Mari might seem like the most normal mother on this list — and, to an extent, she actually is. However, don't get the wrong idea. After all, this is an anime character after all, so there's bound to be a quirk.
In the case of Mari, it just so happens that she used to be a gangster. As of right now, Mari has the daunting role of taking care of her otaku son who is seemingly poised to achieve nothing in life. With a husband that's constantly overseas, it must be harrowing to constantly provide for your kids.
Another single mother with her fair share of problems, Yasuko might seem somewhat irresponsible at a first glance. She frequently finds herself under the table, forcing her son to clean her mess up. However, don't think bad of her — Yasuko actually does way more than you might think.
The passing of her husband meant that she had to take up multiple jobs to provide for her son, which she tries her hardest to accomplish. Her efforts are admirable, and should definitely be recognized and appreciated.
The story of Bell-mère is one of the most emotional tales during the early goings of One Piece , which provided some much-needed character development for Nami and established her character to be more than just a person who only looked out for herself.
Sacrifice is a theme we've already touched upon in the list, and Bell-mère makes the ultimate sacrifice when she chooses the lives of her daughters over her own. This arc wraps up in a nice bit of redemption when Luffy smacks Arlong with all his might.
Chi-Chi, from Dragon Ball Z , seems like the cliche mother who wants her child to excel at everything and fail at nothing. While this might seem somewhat controlling, there's still a loving side to her that genuinely cares about Gohan and Goten.
Her limited knowledge regarding the field of martial arts meant that she was relegated to being a stay-at-home mom. She's taken over this role in stride and her outbursts have become the stuff of legends among the Dragon Ball fans.
The Parasyte anime was a breath of fresh air that did justice to a manga series that was fairly old. The concept of parasites taking over the bodies of humans is quite spooky, and the fact that this happens to Izumi's mother is a tragic event.

After her baby died during childbirth, Izumi tried to use alchemy to bring them back. However, the end result is nowhere near ideal — Izumi created a monster that had to be taken care of. On top of all this, she also ended up causing permanent damage to her body as well.
It feels like we're constantly talking about the element of sacrifice when it comes to parenting, but there are times when it simply can't be avoided. In the case of Queen Serenity from Sailor Moon , her sacrifice is something that absolutely needs to be mentioned.
To put it into context, she makes the ultimate sacrifice so that her daughter and all her friends obtained the chance to live out their lives on Earth . Usagi never forgets this, and stays in touch with her mother's spirit at all times.
A person so mythical that she's still considered to be one of the most powerful Quincy around, even after her demise, Masaki Kurosaki technically bridged the gap between Shinigami and Quincy way before it was supposed to.
Since not a lot is known about her, we can't exactly compare her to the other fighters in Bleach . However, if Ishida could progress so far with his powers in a short span of time, then one can only wonder just how powerful Masaki actually was.
One of the most memorable women in anime, Kushina's red hair is not her only striking feature. The fact that she was selected to host the rogue chakra of the Nine-Tails goes to prove just how much of an integral character she was for the events of Naruto .
Her influence over her son stretched even after her demise, helping Naruto co-operate and — ultimately — befriend Kurama. While her abilities weren't shown in detail, what did make the cut was certainly quite impressive.
It's kinda weird and creepy how Krillin developed feelings for Android 18. The label of her being an "Android" certainly didn't stop him from trying to woo her, which is... well. Perhaps the fact that Android 18 was a robot with the instructions to destroy life on Earth should've knocked some sense into Krillin... but we digress.
Android 18 is definitely one of the most powerful fighters in the Dragon Ball universe. The fact that her brother actually won the Universe Tournament should serve as an indication towards her huge untapped potential, which can make her a daunting mother indeed.
Medusa Gorgon actually shares a ton of similarities with Ragyō Kiryūin from Kill La Kill. She's an incredibly powerful mother who hasn't exactly treated her kids properly... oh, and she also happens to be a major antagonist in her series.
Her powers are on a whole another level. The fact that she has one of the largest souls in the series makes her an incredibly powerful witch. Her big reveal as the villain after being a seemingly normal nurse is also quite memorable, making her entry in Soul Eater a turning point for the series as a whole.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the best anime shows of all time. The symbolism of this series is so prevalent that it's almost mandatory to watch the series twice to pick up on all the subtle messaging in the series. The participation of Yui Ikari might be the most disturbing aspect.
If you haven't seen the series or don't remember the finer details, then you might be wondering why Yui Ikari — an unassuming scientist — is on this list. Well, the fact is that the Evangelion that Shinji is piloting is actually his mother.

My stepmom's 10 years older than me, but she doesn't look like it... Is she... trying to tempt me?
Ok I'ma just be honest it was good at first but then it started going to shit about half way through. I originally dropped this series just for how shit it was but then I started it back up and just finished it. The characters fucking suck, I thought at first that it was a pretty good consept for a story but then at the end Jin-woo sleep with all of these women like damn dude who knew a man slut like him even existed. I personally liked one of the women at the end as she was nice kind and not a dick like the other female characters. But in the end they didn't get together and that is when I started to regret my life choices as I chose to read this shit series. The one think that I actually likes about this series is the ending were Jin-woo turned his life around and did something productive and not have sex with those stockings. All together it was shit, the only thing I really liked when he changed his life tho..... All I can say is that your bored with nothing to do (like nothing, like your dying from bordom) you could read this. Sry for the rambling XD
well I can safely say this manhwa is just garbage. It doesn't even deserve a serious review, so I'll say a few words, the beginning was interesting, but then it falls more and more into trash until it becomes truly unbearable to read, the characters are flat and poorly characterized, the art is truly horrible and the history is ... this manhwa has nothing of history. In short, a useless waste of time, it is not even as good as manhwa ecchi, as most of the hot scenes were just annoying to watch, I advise you not to waste time

My Stepmom has left me extremely disappointed and super confused over the ending.
I don't even know where to start.... the art was OK, but the characters and storyline just felt so off and wasn't properly introduced. From the beginning, we're barely introduced to Jinwoo and Hayeon as there was no 'foundation' as to why all of a sudden there was suddenly an intimate relationship ongoing. In fact, pretty much every other new character introduced is the same. Yoonji felt incredibly out of place for me too, though it does make sense for Jinwoo suddenly jumping into the relationship as he merely wanted her for his body, not for liking her as a person he genuinely cares for. (I'm just making an assumption here, given that we're given absolutely ZERO context of the relationship between the two apart from sharing the same hobby).
It's hard to like a story where the characters aren't given a proper introduction and can't be done so when there's sex every 10 pages. I'd confidently say that Jinwoo has the only somewhat DECENT character insight, given that his perception of sex had been altered and manipulated by his dad who neglects showing emotions and through the actions of his deceased mum cheating and through his current stepmom, as well as finding it difficult to decide on what it means to 'like' someone (seen through his relationship with Yoonji). Oh, and also how later on when he meets a new woman, and takes advantage of her just like his stepmum did.
I know for many it's just meant to be a quick fap-off, but why can't it be like whilst having a good storyline? Many unnecessary characters introduced such as Sang-Jin and Joong-Pil (seriously, wtf was the artist thinking bringing a character like that... that was just fucked) to provide 'drama' into the series.
Overall, it was a dogshit read. End made no sense when Jinwoo got together with Hayeon again, didn't he say earlier that he hated her when he realized how she emotionally abused him to take advantage? The major plot points of the story were all rushed, given that they probabaly couldn't be covered in 51 chapters alone + through its lazy time skips. Excluding the vigorous sex Jinwoo had, he's probabaly the only one I *kinda* like from this series. Don't read this at all. I can't believe I got baited by a fucking YouTube ad to waste 3 hours of my life
