Late '70s porn is throwback to early days of hardcore
The pointless XXX one-day wonders, often with Ric Lutze on hand, hearken back to those early days of hardcore: 1970-72, but this late '70s entry HOT HONEYS plays out in identical pointless fashion. Add an insufferably giggling all the time Ric Lutze to the cast and you have a junker revived randomly on Vol. 80 of Something Weird's Dragon Art Theatre series. Its non-story is about two femme roommates, Jan, a sexually active good looks-challenged blonde (OK, she was whupped by the ugly stick), and Christie, a prissy, virginal beauty, played by Maria Tortuga at the beginning of her career. What they have in common is a penchant for wearing black stockings & garter belt, perhaps this movie's strongest suit and fetish. We know Christie (played by Tortuga) is brainy because she's reading Carlos Castaneda's 1974 book "Tales of Power"; would that the film's script had one iota of the mystery of his writing. Instead we have folks trying to get poor Christie laid (as opposed to TV's GET CHRISTY LOVE!). One day she accepts a ride home from a stranger driving along, and that takes care of that non-subplot. Movie ends very clumsily with everybody showing up for a dinner party where the only thing on the menu is orgy. Last twist was lost on me due to a shredded print, as a latecomer to the party/orgy might be Christie's brother? I'll never know, thanks to garbled, unintelligible dialog. Musical score is miserable, opening the film incongruously with the theme from TV's THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., and plunging mainly into a disco groove thereafter, including even a disco version of Beethoven, and ending with "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)".

It's easy to buy hot honey, but just as easy (in my opinion) to make it at home. Drizzle it over roasted meats or vegetables, or use it to spice up a salad dressing. You can also mix it into soft butter to serve over biscuits. Yum!
Combine honey, vinegar, red pepper flakes, thyme, smoked paprika, and salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature so flavors infuse, about 30 minutes. Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
Vary the flavor profile to suit your tastes. Rosemary sprigs, orange peels, and crushed fennel seeds are all delicious additions.
Strain out the solids if you prefer not to see them in the final dish.
This is very good and easy to make. I made exactly as written including the thyme and smoked paprika. This will become a staple for me. It is great on bread/biscuits with butter. I will try it as a glaze for grilled salmon soon.
I like thyme but this makes it weird for me. The thyme has a muddy taste and a gritty feel. I will be able to add this to bbq sauce or make spicy baked beans.

I left out the thyme (don't like it) and forgot the salt, but this was still amazing. We had it with egg rolls, Vietnamese spring rolls and on biscuits. I mixed a big spoonful into the peanut sauce for our spring rolls and made it extra yumm. I had never even heard of hot honey before, but I'm glad I have it now!

12.17.20 ... Hot Honey ...A little twangy - the vinegar. Slightly sweet - the honey. Duh. I halved the pepper & it was still a medium heat, but it didn't last - the spicy sensation. It made its mark & left quickly. Yup, hot honey. I used on cooked carrots. Maybe ham would be a better pair-up. Oh, I omitted the thyme.
Loved this! Made to drizzle on Bacon Wrapped Shrimp from this site. Amazing and so glad I have some left to use on other dishes! I did halve the red pepper; I think me, my daughter and her husband would have preferred a bit more spice (full red pepper recipe calls for) but the majority of my guests do not like foods with much heat. Everyone liked as made (1/2 red pepper) and will absolutely make again! Likely as written!! Thank you!!
