I’m writing this anonymously because I had a horrible experience. I don’t think I was the hottest girl in school because I didn’t dress sleezey and everyone knew I was a prude when it came to provocative behavior. However, I do know that I was one of the more attractive girls in my class because there were several instances were I was told that by parents, staff or other students. For me it was horrible. The girls in my grade made fun of my blonde hair because of a guest anthropologist who came in and used me as an example of what boys wanted from an evolutionary psycholoical standpoint. I was

The girls in my grade made fun of my blonde hair because of a guest anthropologist who came in and used me as an example of what boys wanted from an evolutionary psycholoical standpoint. I was naturally very thin as well as very short and petite since I was 5’2” and weighed only 100 pounds. Because of this I was constantly berated with eating disorder pamphlets I would find shoved into my locker, or some girls were brave enough to give it to me to my face in front of a teacher or a parent and pretend to be concerned about me. Girls HATED me. I was everything they wanted to be; I was skinny, I was pretty, I was naturally blonde, I had a killer figure, I was smart, I was born with perfectly straight white teeth, I won awards outside of school, my family was wealthy and father very well known and successful, and my teachers loved me because I was kind and patient and I was very willing to tutor younger students they might have in other classes. Now those were just the girls. The boys were TOTALLY opposite. They LOVED me, but not in the way girls want a guy’s attention. My Brother also attended the school and he was also extremely attractive, tall, buff, brilliant, and very popular. However because everyone knew my brother, everyone knew me. I was berated with sexual texts, threats, fake love letters, fake prom proposals, people who would constantly ask me for snapchats, a fake Instagram account where boys and girls equally berated me, and so forth. It got to be so horrible my parents had to step in and threaten parents that if they didn’t talk to their children about their behavior they would call the police because at that point it was a threat to my safety. I did have a boyfriend for a short period of time, but he was very proud of how pretty I was and after he slept with my friend and we broke up, he paraded it around that he only dated me for my looks and made up a bunch of lies about me everyone ate up. However the guys were much easier to deal with than the girls were. The girls were so horrible that during the homecoming game they literally threw me out of my cheer stunt (I was a flyer and we did a basket toss) and then didn’t catch me, and I broke my arm in front of the entire class. Not one of them apologized and people were angry with me for the rest of the year for ruining the night. It was ridiculously stupid. I spent those four years wishing that I wasn’t pretty and wishing that people would like me, and wishing that I wasn’t “perfect” (I was far from that). I wished that I wasn’t as good as everyone thought I was and I wished that the nice boys didn’t look at me and think I was out of their league because there were plenty of those boys in High school as well I would have loved to have chase me instead of the disgusting little gremlins who constantly wanted to “fuck me” and “see her naked” and all the horrors I received in my inbox.
Im sure there are plenty attractive girls out there who have wonderful experiences and date cute boys and are beloved by everyone. And they should be. Everyone should be. I’ve since gotten over what happened to me in high school and have built up the self confidence that Hell Yeah im attractive! And you can be angry at me all you want because I hit the genetic jack pot, but at the end of the day it’s our actions that will determine who’s really a beautiful human being, and bullies are not.
I’m now preparing to go to med-school and the bullying hasn’t really ceased to stop. Men still try to constantly sleep with me and Women make snippy comments. I actually laughed because someone shoved an eating disorder pamphlet under my apartment door and it was a total throwback to high school. I don’t think that the stigma that surrounds my looks will ever go away and I’m concerned in the future my children (if they inherit my looks) will have to go through the same ordeals that I dealt with. However, I have learnt how to handle and deal with it, and I have a wonderful support system!

Catcalls. I just want to walk the campus ( I go to community college and a regular high school) without being cat called, or having the threat of being cat called.
In conclusion, being “hot” is both good and bad. It makes me feel more confident at times, however I want my personality to over run my looks.
