Jillian Michaels Hot Body, Healthy Mommy is the perfect workout for getting your body back after having a baby. When your doctor has cleared you for exercise and you’re ready to get back into fitness, you will get fantastic results with this DVD. Jillian worked with renowned pregnancy fitness expert Andrea Orbeck to provide three incredibly effective workouts, each focusing on a different section of your body— an upper body workout to focus on arms, chest and back, a lower body workout that tones the buns and thighs, and a core strengthening workout. Jillian understands the busy schedule of an on-the-go mom, which is why each workout is only approx.20 minutes each. Jillian offers modifications for every move and gives special instructions to moms who’ve had a C-section or diastasis recti.

After having my son in June 2018, I was hesitant to start any workout program. I had foregone any exercise regimen I had before getting pregnant and indulged in every craving. It felt a lot like I was starting all over with this postpartum journey and to be completely honest, I basically was. I had gained the entirety of the 85 pounds I had lost back, with the exception of a measly 2 pounds. This is when I turned to Jillian Michaels Hot Body Healthy Mommy, the best home workout I found for postpartum moms.
Now it is no secret that I am a super fan of Jillian Michaels. I first found her on NBC’s The Biggest Loser and I have always loved her content. During my last postpartum journey, I used Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred which helped me lose 85 pounds. (You can read about that and see my results here .) I was in the best shape of my life. The reason I did not immediately return to this workout after having my son is because after sitting down for 10 months, I was fairly certain I could not keep up with it. Hot Body Healthy Mommy seemed like a welcomed alternative to get back into the groove of things after I received my doctor’s OK.
I believe it is incredibly important to speak with your physician and receive approval before beginning any postpartum workout regimen. I do not recommend beginning any workout regimen before you have the OK from your doctor to do so.
Less Intense: Given that I have used other content from Jillian Michaels, I can confidently say that Hot Body Healthy Mommy is much gentler than her other content. She speaks with a much gentler tone and is considerate of new moms and their emotions.
Considerate of Postpartum Conditions: One of the biggest pros that I can’t stress enough is that Jillian Michaels teamed up with Andrea Horwath to develop a program that is considerate of C-Section mamas and diastasis recti injuries. With your physician’s OK, you should be able to perform this workout without further injury to those areas.
Affordable: The workout is available on Amazon for significantly less than other postpartum fitness programs.
Short Workouts: The workouts are 20 minute each and broken down into upper body, lower body and core segments. It was fairly easy for me to squeak the workout in while my son was napping.
Less Intense : For some this may be a pro to this workout, and others a con. If you were not like me and maintained your fitness level during your pregnancy and remained active, you may find this workout too easy for you. It is significantly less intense than Jillian’s other content.
I wholeheartedly recommend Jillian Michael’s Hot Body Healthy Mommy to moms beginning their postpartum journeys. It was an excellent way for me to reintroduce weight lifting and interval training after having my son. I especially enjoy that the workouts are quick, effective and broken into upper body, core and lower body segments.
Jillian Michaels Hot Body Healthy Mommy helped me lose the first 30 pounds of my second postpartum journey and has helped me regain the strength to return to other workouts that I love.

I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's no secret that I love Jillian Michaels' workouts. I love the toughness, I love the way her workouts are structured, and I love the results I get from them. When I heard that Jillian has finally come out with a postpartum fitness DVD I could not get my hands on it fast enough!


I was a bit apprehensive at the same time though. How in the world would Jillian's badass style gel with a body after baby type DVD? I'm so used to tough Jillian stuff that I really had no idea what to expect with this. How could this work? Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised.


Jillian Michaels Hot Body Healthy Mommy is a postpartum workout DVD that was developed alongside pregnancy and post-pregnancy workout expert Andrea Orbeck. The DVD is divided into 3 separate workouts:

The Whole30 Program is amazing. I highly recommend it. Every time I've done a Whole 30 I have felt AMAZING by the end. It's a very empowering experience. It is not however an easy one. Mostly because the food prep can take much more time if you're used to grab and go options. A little planning ahead and you can definitely make it through the 30 days. When it comes to Whole30 lunches, 3 things worked best for me: Quick and easy salads. Prepping food on Sunday. Cooking too much at dinner and eating leftovers for lunch the next day. I thought I'd share 30 of the awesome Whole30 lunch recipes I've found from my favorite bloggers (and a few from me!). I've included all three options I listed above. Some quick and easy salads, some to prep an entire recipe on the weekend and then portion them for lunches that week, and some to be cooked for dinner and the leftovers packed for lunch the next day. I'm always playing around with easy snack recipes for my paleo kiddos. This Paleo Energy Bar Recipe in many incarnations is our go-to! It takes no time at all to whip a batch up and the kids love them. They're not only paleo, but also vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, soy-free, and dairy-free. Plus, I mean... there's chocolate. ;) Just 4 ingredients! Paleo Energy Bars Ingredients 1 cup Whole Natural Almonds 12 to 14 Organic Medjool Dates , de-pitted 1/2 of a Alter Eco Chocolate Dark Blackout 85% 1/4 cup Raw Pumpkin Seeds Directions Pulse the almonds in food processor until you get small bits, but not paste. Empty into mixing bowl. Do the same with the dark chocolate. Process the dates in the food processor until smooth. They will tend to come together in a ball. Add to nut/chocolate mixture. Add the pumpkin seeds whole. Line a 9 x 9 pan with parchment paper or plastic wrap. Mix the ingredients in the bowl. I usually just smoosh all of the

I love a good glass of red wine now and then, I mean it's practically a health food, right? ;) But sometimes I just want a cocktail. I'm all for moderation and having a drink now and then, but I'm just not down with the calorie, carb, and sugar counts of some of my favorites. Seriously, have you ever looked them up? Eek. So, I've set to work at converting my favorite cocktail recipes to be more keto diet friendly! The first cocktail recipe I'm tackling is the keto lemon drop . I used to love these, but haven't had one in years because of the sugar in them. In my early twenties I had a friend who used to make them for me all the time. We would have a shaker full of these, a good dinner, and a chick flick on a weeknight , it was kind of bliss. Her recipe called for so. much. SUGAR though! OK, I know I've been on quite the low carb pancake tangent lately, but THESE! Seriously, these are yummtastic. Yummazing? Ya, they're really good. With her latest offering in the fitness DVD realm- Jillian Michaels: Killer Buns and Thighs - Jillian Michaels delivers again in typical Jillian style . To some, that will be the problem. I hear this less since she left the Biggest Loser, but I still hear it. It seems most people either love her attitude or can't stand it, with few in between. But if you are a Jillian fan like me (or a can tolerate Jillian for a great workout type) this is an intense sweat-fest of a DVD that I highly recommend. From the packaging: Do the saddlebags on your legs make you insane? It's time to get healthy! It's time to get strong. Welcome to FitViews. My blog about all things fit and healthy. I'm Kerri O., a mom of 4 trying to fit it all in. I blogged my way from a size 22 to a size 8. Then, got pregnant with baby #4 and went back up to a size 14, but we won't go there... Oh wait, yes we will!
