Greater Noida: A 12-year-old boy in Greater Noida allegedly raped and impregnated his teen sister. The family of the teenager learned about the 16-year-old girl's pregnancy when her mother's employer noticed a bump and asked about her. On being asked about her health, the teenager revealed that she was raped twice by her brother.
As per the girl, she was sexually assaulted by her brother around two to three months ago (Representative Image).
Both teenagers stay with their parents and three other siblings at a rented accommodation. Their father is a construction worker while the mother works as a maid at a residential society.
As per the girl, she was sexually assaulted by her brother around two to three months ago. Reportedly, the brother-sister duo was unaware of the implications of the act.
After learning the girl's plight, her mother's employer called Childline and the cops launched an investigation into the case. Probe revealed that the parents also did not realise the severity of the situation, The Times of India reported.
According to a police official, the girl had told her mother about the alleged rape but the latter had paid no attention to her. The cop added, "The family thought the girl had an infection and did not realise she was pregnant. "

Sub-inspector Usha Kushwaha, the investigating officer of the case said that the survivor is the second among her five siblings and the accused is the third. Both teenagers, who are school students, had been staying at home due to the pandemic.
After the probe was conducted, the boy was produced before the child welfare committee and was sent to a juvenile shelter in Phase 2 on Tuesday. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
