I've seen that in the docker-compose setup for jackett and also in hydra's config section, but I'm not sure what it is (just a directory?) or why/how it's used.
It just downloads the torrent file into the directory. Nothing more.
You then setup your torrent program to scan the same directory every x minutes and any file it finds it imports and downloads.
Yeah I'm still a little confused about this too. How is it different from the "standard" way (if there is a standard way) to setting up a torrent client with something like sonarr/radarr?
I could be way off, but I always assumed it was something like a file repository. Say you have the black hole set up, when you run your magnet links or directly download the torrent file, it goes into the black hole. Then as you're using your client to actually download the files, the black hole is checked every X minutes. So long as there's a file in the black hole that hasn't been downloaded already, it will automatically start downloading that file.
I figure it could be like if you were planning on downloading A LOT but you had to leave for an extended amount of time, fill up your black hole, have your client set up to only download a certain amount at a time to maximize download speeds, then let it do its thing.
Again, I could be way off. That's just what I always assumed it was. Was never in a situation that required I need it, so I've never bothered with it myself.
