I'm not going to lie, Josou Kaikyou was a lot more fun than I expected it to be, and it was legitimately funny... So I guess I'm okay with this. Pretty hilarious we went from exactly one otokoge (QT Cool) being in English to a fanTL and now this being announced within a month of each other lol... And Jinja on the same day.. What is going on
Its not the only one there was also Otomaid@Cafe though it too was a fantl
All the Nounai Kanojo games (and subsequently No~Strike when they broke off from their parent company) of this genre are honestly worth a look. I've been a pretty big fan, especially when Aogiri Penta does the artwork for them. I hope JAST picks up more of them so everyone else gets a shot at enjoying them all. It's admittedly a pretty niche market, especially overseas...

Even if this isn't really my thing, it's interesting to see two translated titles from JAST release in such a short time. Granted, LxT was apparently based on a fanTL and both are short 2-10 hour titles, but it's still nice to see some life from JAST.

For the unaware, this is a VN that will involve traps, made by the same company as Trap Island, the nukige that got a patch a little while back. Interesting choice of localization for JAST, not going to lie.
I sure hope this suggest the rest of them will get translated. Id kill for Gakuen and Sennen Oukoku. Also Yome Juu...

Y'know, genuine question after finally watching the video: does one really need to censor the chest area when it comes to otokonoko? They're just crossdressing, right? Or maybe they worried that because of the flat chests, YT might mistake them for underage girls and take the video down?
I know nothing about this fetish so I was just a little surprised.

I love traps, so this has my attention.
While I'm aware this was not a serious question, if they simply wanted to avoid being offensive, as far as I know no one is particularly bothered by otokonoko as a term either. I haven't exactly made a deep investigation into the subject.
I have no idea who makes these decisions at Jast and what they officially factor into it. I assume there's a balance between wanting to attract the right kind of attention (people who want to buy your product) while trying not to draw the ire of people who will make your life difficult (Calling the game "Crossdressers of the Mountain", for example, I can imagine if that ever came to Steam it would get inundated with rage posts from the "anime is disgusting and should be destroyed" FPS crowd.)
So, wildly guessing, I would assume that they chose not to go with the Japanese term because they wanted something that would click with English speakers less familiar with hentai fetish-sorting terminology. But then, 'tomgirl' isn't very widely used either, at least not in my circles. Shamefully, I honestly didn't get it at first.
(I've seen 'janegirl' used when people were trying to look for the opposite of tomboy, but only in the sense of people trying to answer that question, not in the sense of anyone REALLY using it.)
If Josou Kaikyou is anything to go by, these games are going to be pleasant and worth a purchase.
Please localize Josou Gakuen (the Aogiri Penta one) and Sennen Okoku, those are so much better
