" Each book has a definitive romance that burns hot and bright, while the continuing story arc of finding a wife and meeting the inheritance deadline ties each book together, and keeps readers wanting more." - RT Book Reviews
I am having so much fun following the lives of the McNeills! I was as shocked as anyone when Dad announced his "other" family, and knew I needed to hunt down all the brothers. This family--abandoned young by their part-time father--has been through a lot and they are fiercely protective of one another.
That's a protectiveness Jager McNeill extends to his assistant, Delia, after an unexpected night of passion. He won't abandon his child the way his father abandoned him. For Delia, her boss's insistence on keeping her close wreaks havoc on her desire for independence. But resisting the passion of a McNeill isn't easy. Especially when she finds herself falling in love...

Jagar and Delia met under unusual circumstances when she ran him down with a jet ski. A couple of years later everything has changed and a pregnant Delia's life is about to change.

This book was so good I couldn't put the book down I read it 3 times can't wait to read the others

Ever read a series and can’t wait for the next book to come out? Yep, this is that series for me. I’ll never forget when Ms. Rock offered me the first book in the series (Quinn’s book) and asked me to review it. Oh.My.Gosh. I was completely hooked. Then we get to Cam’s book (#3) and at the last 1/4 of it, we are told that there are 3 more McNeill’s to drool over and read about. I waited with bated breath when it came to reading about the others. And trust me, Ms. Rock does not disappoint. Next month, I get to drool over Damon’s story next. In fact, we get a bit of the backstory about him and what has happened. *sigh* So now we have the “beginning” of the “other” McNeills. *sigh* This trio is going to be even more interesting and feisty that Quinn, Ian, and Cam…if that’s possible. Of course, we get a trope that I liked. Boss/Assistant/Accidental Pregnancy but with Delia and Jager it’s much more than that. As Jager’s assistant, Delia doesn’t see him much. In fact, it’s been at least a year since they have seen each other so the scene above is priceless. These two have a work history but the romance part is so new to both of them. In fact, in the beginning, I couldn’t get into it but eventually, Jager had me believing in his true feelings for Delia. These two at major “daddy” issues and it affected how they saw marriage and especially with a baby on the way. I loved how Ms. Rock brought a resolution to Delia’s issue but we are not done with Jager at all. *spoiler alert * That’s the whole story ARC between the six books. 😉 What sold me about their relationship is how Delia was able to get Jager to go to New York and at least meet with his “other” brothers. I especially liked how the other girls were there for Delia from the beginning. They had all been there before, so they knew. And Malcolm is just great. Of course, Cam at the gate of his estate on the island is hilarious and trust me, only Cam could get away with it. That’s when I knew that Ms. Rock sold me on Jager, Damon, and Gabe. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series plays out with all six of the brothers. Ms. Rock cannot write a bad book. I’ve been reading her since her early, early Harlequin days (remember Spice? She wrote some historical shorts for that line and yes, I still have them on my old Nook) Plus, regardless of the trope, I always believe in the story. I might have had a bit of trouble in the beginning but once the story really started moving, I was sold. Bring the rest of the brothers. However, I will be really sad when it’s all over. I miss the lugs already. *I received this book for my opinion. My opinion is my own and I was not paid for it.*

Welcome back to the McNeill Magnates! While “Little Secrets: His Pregnant Secretary” is part of the Little Secrets multi-author miniseries, it also introduces us to Jager McNeill of the Other McNeill’s and is the first of the three brothers’ stories. Jager returns to Martinique after a six-month absence and just in time to find his assistant, Delia Rickard, jumping into the water at his marina to save a little girl who fell overboard. After the adrenaline of saving the girl, Jager and Delia give in to their attraction that’s been simmering between them for two years. Their passionate encounter creates a new life, a life Jager swears he’ll be a part of and not be an absentee father like his own had been. Delia, who two years earlier discovered her fiancé’s true reason to wanting to marry her, understands Jager’s need yet doesn’t trust his desire for her. Both Jager and Delia are stubborn. Jager will do what is necessary to show Delia he will stand by her and their baby. All Delia wants is a family, but she won’t compromise her heart for a family without love. Jager and Delia find the love in their hearts during Christmas in New York and are able to move beyond past hurts. One of my favorite scenes in “Little Secrets: His Pregnant Secretary” is between Malcolm McNeill, Jager’s grandfather, and Delia during Jager’s and Delia’s first visit to meet the McNeill’s. Delia standing firm in light of Malcolm’s behavior and Malcolm, in all his gruffness, earned my sympathy in his response to Delia. With a couple more surprises near the end – one for Jager, one for Delia – had me staying up late to find out what was going to happen. Ms. Rock gives us a the perfect present for the holiday about the importance of family in this installment of the McNeill Magnates.

Joanne Rock's latest book Little Secrets: His Pregnant Secretary is a Harlequin Desire title. This book is a quick read. The story is very well written and the characters are well developed. The main characters are Delia Richard and Jäger McNeill. Delia is Jager's assistant and oversees his businesses on the island of Martinique. Jäger is from the wealthy McNeill family and has a very large successful family. Delia and Jäger meet under peculiar circumstances and Jäger offers Delia a job. Months later, Jäger returns to check on the business and is smitten with Delia and vice versa but Delia doesn't want to lose her job by getting involved with her boss. Unfortunatelly, neither Delia nor Jäger can fight the attraction and one thing leads to another and she becomes pregnant. But family dynamics will lead the two on a roller coaster ride. I loved the journey the author takes you on to see if they can find happiness. The book does contain sexual situations but they are pertinent to the story line. This book is a great read that I definitely recommend. I give it 5 stars. - By Julie

Another great book in the McNeill brothers' series! Can't wait for the rest!

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it. I've been enjoying Joanne Rock's stories about the McNeill brothers so far and I was excited to finally get to meet the other three brothers. While His Pregnant Secretary wasn't my favorite of the series so far, it was a good addition to the series and I am looking forward to the other two brothers their stories. We get a few hints about them in this book so far, which makes me curious about their stories. His Pregnant Secretary follows the story of Jager and Delia. Jager is a successfully business owner, for the past year he's been overseas a lot and Delia, his secretary ran much of the business. Now he is back and the heat between them reaches new heights. When their night together leads to Delia being pregnant, both their lives change. I liked getting to know Jager and Delia. I like how while these books aren't too long, the author does make sure to give the main characters some personality to make them feel real. Delia never got much love and affection from her father and her mother died in childbirth, so she is determined to be the best mother possible for her child. Even though she never finished her education, she works hard and is capable at her job. Jager's mom died when he was little and his father left them, so he is just as determined as Delia to be a good parent. I am not really a fan of baby/ pregnancy plot lines, so I didn't really care much about that part. Another part that bothered me a bit is how part of the conflict is similar as in previous books in this series, I just wish these characters handled it differently than the previous ones as it gets a bit old to have the same type of conflict pop up in each book. Jager wants to marry for practical reasons, while Delia won't settle for anything less than love. And they are so busy with those ideas and not communication for a lot of the book, that I never really felt their romance as much as I would've liked. It also seemed that if Jager knew Delia he would've understood she would only marry for love and that Delia would've understand Jager wasn't communicating everything he felt. It just felt a tad off and unrealistic to me how they acted sometimes. I did like how there conflict and drama stayed limited and how there isn't a big break-up scene at the end. I did like how the conflict got resolved, although it did feel a bit sudden and a tad to easy how everything suddenly got resolved. And I really wished they had talked a bit about things more. I did like the epilogue and that's when I did feel their love for each other. I also liked the Christmas touch at the end and the setting in new York. With a few descriptions, the author brought the setting alive. I also liked how it had a bit of a Christmas feel as well with the snow and Christmas timing. I liked that we got to see the brothers from the first 3 books again and how the two sides of the family meet. It was fun to get to see the previous main characters again and see them meet the current main characters. I also liked the parts we got to know about the next two brother's and I am looking forward to their stories. To summarize: I enjoyed reading this book. It was fun meeting the other three brothers and seeing them interact with the previous main characters. I liked how we got to know a bit about Jager and Delia, although it did stay a bit limited. I didn't really care for the baby/ pregnancy plot line, but that's more personal preference than that the author wrote it badly. It did bother me a bit that part of the conflict surrounding the marriage was similar to that of previous books. I had hoped to see them communicate a bit more as I didn't always feel their connection. I did like the epilogue, which was well done and I did feel their romance there. The setting and Christmas touch in the second half of the book was well done. All in all a good addition to this series and I am looking forward to the next two stories!

Little Secrets: His Pregnant Secretary by Joanne Rock   Their journey began with friendship, but a passionate encounter changed all that. Life just got complicated. An unplanned pregnancy, family issues and insecurities disrupt the burgeoning attraction between Jager and Delia, but one well guarded secret could spell the end of a chance at forever before hello has even begun. His Pregnant Secretary is a chance to get acquainted with a new branch of McNeill men and maybe even solve a mystery.

I love when books start to get intense as you read through their collections. As much as I am a sucker for these types of books and I will never get bored of them, I saw that the first 3 books were repetitive, now that I read Jagers story. I can’t wait to read his other brothers Damions story, I hope it’s just as good.

4 1/2 STARS! With a fun take on an affair with the boss storyline, Joanne Rock brings us the next book in her McNeill Magnates series. When a shocking revelation brought about the news that they had three half-brothers out there, the original McNeill brothers set out to try to touch base with them. This book introduces us to them, and brings us Jager’s story. I really loved the instant chemistry and connection between Jager and Delia and the baby surprise made a riveting read. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of, would be a stronger connection being made between these three brothers as the start of what almost feels like a 2nd split off of the series. I think we will eventually get to dig deep into their closeness with each other, but this book fell a little weak in that set up. Overall though, a great continuation of the McNeill saga! With his brother’s life currently in turmoil, Jager McNeil is left to carry the bulk of the load in making sure their business endeavors are taken care of. Thank goodness he has a strong assistant who has literally been running things for him on the Martinique side of things! When he ventures home to take care of some business, a fluke accident brings them in close contact with each other and brings about an attention getting night! Delia Richards can’t believe how easily she lets her guard down with Jager! Sure, she’s been attracted to him since they met a couple of years ago, but he’s her boss and she really needs this job! Can they find a way to make this connection work? And when Jager needs a push in the right direction when it comes to a family matter, will she be just the inspiration he needs to take the next step … especially when they find out a little one is on the way??

This author always tells a great tale – she gets me vested in her characters. She’s created a family who don’t seem to want to be a family. Jager seems to be a man who likes to be in control of all things. Delia is good at following his directions but not enough that she doesn’t give him a run for his money. But will that hateful word “marriage” change things? This was a great holiday read but you certainly can read it at any time of the year. By the time you get to the end, you may find yourself wanting to learn more about the McNeill family. The sad part is that when I finally got there, I found no hints about any of the McNeill’s. But the good thing is that it left me looking forward to more. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Delia has been left devastated by those who supposedly loved her in the past and can no longer trust her own judgment when it comes to men. The story of Jager and Delia is absolutely lovely. I enjoyed getting the insight to both of them as well as a little more insight into the McNeil family. I can not wait to read the next installment in this series.

His Pregnant Secretary by Joanne Rock is the start of the “Other McNeill’s” journey to their own HEA. Malcom is certainly at it again and will do whatever he can to make his other set of grandsons part of the family. Jager, the oldest, certainly has other ideas. He wants nothing to do with Malcom, or the father that abandoned him when he was a kid. When one night with his administrative assistant, Delia, leaves him an expectant father, suddenly Jager has other ideas about the value of family. De

He wants nothing to do with Malcom, or the father that abandoned him when he was a kid. When one night with his administrative assistant, Delia, leaves him an expectant father, suddenly Jager has other ideas about the value of family. Delia, wanting their child to have what she didn’t, certainly pushes them in that direction. This is the perfect holiday read; readers get to experience a full New York Christmas right along with Delia, though we get to do it from the comfort of our couch, where it is presumably warmer. I love Rock’s humor and heart. This book has equal measures of both.

Can these to figure out what to do before the baby is here? Or will they have to settle for just being single parents? Can Jager prove he is in love or will Delia never believe the change that he goes through? I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.

This was a fairly decent story. I am not a big fan of secret pregnancy storylines, but when the author does well I can set aside my non preference of these stories. I enjoyed Rock's writing very much! I thought the characters were fun and that they had interesting attributes. I do wish they had resolved some things differently and that there was more communication between them. It didn't feel like the romance started until 3/4 of the way through and it was too whirlwind for me at that point. Ove

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

This is a fairly enjoyable read. After ignoring their mutual attraction for almost 2 years, Jager & Delia give in to the desire and six weeks later, two lines change their lives. Parental issues in their pasts have both of them wary of what the other wants out of the relationship, but Jager is determined to never repeat his father's mistakes. Will he prove that a baby isn't all there is to his & Delia's relationship? Or will the Christmas holidays be a little less happy for Delia & the McNeill cl

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book, and recommend this light, holiday-themed romance.

She always liked her boss, but sure didn't plan to have his baby. Things got a little out if control, and some best intentions just don't work. But now marriage that is different story. Not just because of a baby on the way. Already don't trust men.

Just like the other McNeill brothers' books, Jager McNeill married the girl who he really wanted in a hurry. The same formula with same scenario, but with different background story of each girl to whom the McNeill bothers married. Delia has unfortunate past which haunted her, and one hot experience with Jager, made them have to deal with some consequences, including marriage in short term. Even though she really loves Jager, she still doesn't want to marry him just for the sake of the creation they made in one passionate night. I just read it fast since this book didn't offer new story line to read except, once again, the background story of the lead female character. 2.5*/5 I made it 3 since Jager is the new character of 3 other McNeill children from different mother. Looking forward to read the next brother, maybe I will find it more interesting to read :)
