Former child star Hilary Duff bares it all in a nude photo shoot for the May-June cover of Women’s Health .
“I think that, at 34, I have just gained a lot of respect for my body,” she said. “It’s taken me all the places I need to go. It’s helped me build a beautiful family. I feel like the older I get, the more confident I get in my own skin . . . I’m really just fascinated by 1: being a woman. And 2: all the changes that your body can go through throughout your lifetime.”
Duff first rose to prominence as a teen idol in “Lizzie McGuire” (a television series that aired from 2001 to 2004, as well as a 2003 movie). She later moved on to star in rom-coms and family-friendly fare such as the “Cheaper by the Dozen” films and “A Cinderella Story,” not to mention a music career and a much-publicized tween love triangle with rapper Aaron Carter and actress Lindsay Lohan. While Lohan and other stars of that era were painted as wild in the media, Duff’s public image was more down to earth.
“It was a conscious choice not to be angsty and try to shift people’s opinions on who I am. That doesn’t mean I didn’t want to try!” she told Women’s Health . “It would be dumb of me to not know that I have a sweet spot playing that relatable girl. I am that girl.”
She confessed that she struggled with an eating disorder when she was 17. “Because of my career path, I can’t help but be like, ‘I am on camera and actresses are skinny,’ ” she said. But after having three kids and getting another tattoo (ink on her neck that says “mother,” in addition to roses and swallows on her arms), she’s in a better place with her body, she said.
She attempted to resurrect “Lizzie McGuire” in a series for Disney+, about an adult version of the character, but it was axed in December 2020 due to creative differences. Duff previously wrote an Instagram post begging Disney to air the revival on Hulu, writing, “I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30-year-old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating.”
She further elaborated: “She had to be 30 years old doing 30-year-old things. She didn’t need to be doing bong rips and having one-night stands all the time, but it had to be authentic. I think they got spooked.”
Today, she stars in the “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff series, “How I Met Your Father,” on Hulu. She has a 10-year-old son, Luca, with her ex-husband, NHL star Mike Comrie, and she also has two daughters, 3-year-old Banks and 1-year-old Mae, with her current hubby, singer-songwriter Matthew Koma, who she’s been married to since 2019.
“I’m proud of my body,” she said. “I’m proud that it’s produced three children for me. I’ve gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has gone through. I also want people to know a makeup artist was there putting glow all over my body and someone put me in the most flattering position.”

Bath time obviously calls for some artsy photos, and Hilary Duff just took her sudsy selfies to a sultry level. On Monday, the actress documented her relaxation time with a couple of nearly NSFW pics on her Instagram story .
In the first post, Duff snapped a shot which showed her rubbing her one eye and inadvertently showing off her trendy, color-block nails and small heart wrist tattoo. A flower emoji covered up what seems to be her nipple, and she layered green and pink Puka necklaces as she leaned her head against the tub.
"Have had sunscreen in my eye all day," she wrote over the photo. The next story appeared to be more posed with Duff's hand resting behind her wet hair, as she showcased her perfectly arched brows. "Just Got @Kristiestreicher ..... Hope the sun doesn't take my brows away," she wrote, referencing her new Feathered Brow Microfeather treatment.
Duff and her husband Matthew Koma have jetted off on a tropical vacation. And while the location is undisclosed, the actress did post a plane selfie with Koma writing, "Leaving for a little bit …. The 3 of us☺️"
Her cryptic caption sparked followers to speculate if she was pregnant again , but Koma quickly shut down those rumors by commenting, "She's talking about @stephanjenkins sitting behind us you baby crazies."

Disney Channel alum and current Hulu actress Hilary Duff has come a long way in Hollywood from her child star days. The “Come Clean” artist continues to thrive in new acting roles alongside the job she prioritizes the most: caring for her children. Whenever she shares family photos to social media or attends high-end red carpet events, the former Lizzie McGuire lead can also rock a braless look whenever she wants!
However, Hilary has also struggled with her self-perception as she grew up in the spotlight.
“Because of my career path, I can’t help but be like, ‘I am on camera and actresses are skinny,’” she admitted in a May 2022 interview with Women’s Health , in which she recalled having an eating disorder in her late teenager years. She also called the ordeal “horrifying” and confessed she was “obsessed with everything [she] put in her mouth.”
Nevertheless, the How I Met Your Father actress posed nude for the magazine photo shoot and opened up about her matured self-esteem.
“I’m proud of my body. I’m proud that it’s produced three children for me,” she said, while also pointing out she wanted “people to know a makeup artist was there putting glow all over [her] body and someone put [her] in the most flattering position.”
She continued, “I’ve gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has gone through.”
Hilary shares son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie and daughters Mae and Banks with husband Matthew Koma , whom she married in 2019.
In her 2022 interview, the Cadet Kelly star explained how motherhood helped her reach a newfound pride in her natural physicality.
“I think at 34, I’ve just gained a lot of respect for my body,” Hilary added. “It’s taken me all the places I need to go, it’s helped me build a beautiful family.”
After posing naked for the published photo shoot, Hilary shared the images via Instagram and explained how “scary” the experience initially was for her.
“I knew doing this would terrify me, and I was right!” the Cinderella Story actress captioned her post in May 2022. “@womenshealthmag had the most lovely all-women shoot and I actually had the best time. I felt strong and beautiful and laughed a lot getting into some of these poses without my high-waisted mom jeans and oversized whatever I normally wear. Thank you to everyone who normalized this day for me and propped me up with compliments and love … I love these photos so much, thank you for capturing a moment in time where I felt both completely vulnerable but powerful.”
While she promotes self-love, Hilary has nevertheless maintained her noteworthy humble demeanor throughout her career.
