Issei Hyodo's first date with his new girlfriend ends poorly when she turns into a monster and stabs him in the stomach. Luckily, he's saved by Rias, the buxom president of his school's Occult Research Club. And then, things really start to get weird...
Surprise! All the members of the Occult Research Club are devils, including new-recruit Issei, who's having difficulties figuring out the whole "demonic power" thing. Maybe he'd have better luck if Fallen Angels stopped popping up and trying to kill him.
Issei meets and befriends a girl named Asia Argento, a Sister who has arrived to serve at the town's church. Issei learns more about the chess game in which he has become a part, and the roles that he and his fellow devils play within it.
Issei is determined to get stronger. He spends some more time with Asia, but once again, their circumstances keep them apart. Issei finds out that although pawns may not be very strong, they have a power that allows them to act like other chess pieces.
While Kiba and Koneko back him up, Issei rushes in to rescue a critically injured Asia. Leaving the others behind, Raynare and Issei become engaged in a duel to the death! Elsewhere, Rias and Akeno have their hands full with Raynare's fallen angels.
New living arrangements are made for Asia, who has been living in the club's room. Meanwhile, Issei begins a new training regimen with Rias to improve his physical fitness. Asia begins attending school, where she is placed in Issei's class.
Rias decides that it is time for Issei and Asia to have servant familiars. The school's student council visits the club room, and Issei learns that they are another faction of devils. The two groups compete to see who gets first pick of the new familiars.
Issei dreams that he is marrying Rias, which leads him to get in touch with his inner dragon. Asia confesses a desire to have a deeper relationship with Issei. But it is Rias who appears in Issei's bedroom that night looking to lose her virginity!
Issei and Asia undergo a special training camp with the other household members to get ready for the upcoming Rating Game. Issei struggles to figure out what his own special characteristic is. Rias explains more about devils and the Gremory family.
The time for the start of the Rating Game arrives, and the contestants are transported to a battlefield in an alternate dimension. While Asia and Rias remain at their base, Issei and Koneko face the opposition, and Issei reveals his new signature move.
11. The Acclaimed Battle Continues!
Kiba becomes entrenched in battle against Karlamine, one of Riser's knights, while Akeno fights Yubelluna, his queen. Meanwhile, Issei takes on Ravel and the other remaining pieces. Rias launches an all-or-nothing sneak attack against Riser.
Issei wakes up to find that the battle is over, and he has lost. Rias and the others are at a party in honor of her engagement to Riser, but with some help from Grayfia and Asia, Issei decides to crash it, rescue Rias, and bring her home with him!

I have been watching Anime off and on for 10 years. I either like a title a lot or dislike it. Usually when I dislike anime is because the central characters are in Junior High and they are taking perversion to a level that is uncomfortable. Now let's review this title. There are certain titles I feel are the best of anime. Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple and Sakarei are the two which come to mind. High School DXD kinda reminds me of Kenichi, if Kenichi was a pervert and had magical powers. It would not surprise me if the people whom wrote and produced Kenichi also wrote and produced High School DXD. It has a lot of the same themes: boy is talentless, practices really hard, wants to protect someone, in the end be beats up a really "high level boss". Unlike Kenichi they develop the characters very quickly and the group does not grow as big as Kenichi. I gave High School DXD 5 stars because the perversion will not bother you because of whom the "people" this anime center around turn out to be. You would expect them to be perverted ... and they are. In a very fun way. The main character's perversion, being a High School Boy, is simple = he wants to see every girl naked. This is something that every guy whom has gone through High School will understand and every gal whom has gone through High School will cringe. This is what makes it very relatable. The story is lighthearted and interesting. It centers around a Judio-Christian theme which I found surprising because most of the time animes, I have watched deal, with Japanese G-ds and G-desses (Spirited Away for example). I am hoping they make another season of High School DXD and they dub it. I really liked it. It is worth the money to download.

I came for the fanservice, but I stayed for...well, I paid $16 for this series so I might as well watch the whole thing. This anime is pretty interesting, not counting all of the nudity and panty shots which this thing doesn't skip out on. The characters are very interesting, although I have mixed feelings for Issei who is the main character. While I do like his loyalty and dedication to Rias and the rest of the Occult Club, his pervy moments kind of rub me the wrong way. However he's not as bad as his school friends who thankfully are not in the show very much; but in all seriousness all three of them should be on some kind of registry, I was never that horny when I was a teenager. You would probably think that Rias Gremory would be my favorite character for *ahem* reasons 😏, but it's actually Asia Argento the nun turned devil minion of Rias; she's just so sweet and innocent I just love her! The animation is great and the story is interesting, so if there's going to be a second season, I might watch it.

High School DxD is simply another in a growing list of guilty, fan-boy anime pleasures I've discovered in the passed year or so. Other great series include "Heaven's Lost Property," "Cat Planet Cuties," and "Sekirei." In this one, a typical loser dorky guy is at high school and just wants to be normal with his few buddies. But then he discovers there are demon chicks at his school and he gets sucked into their crazy club and becomes a devil himself! Pretty awesome fan-service! Plenty of cute girls and huge boobs bouncing around. But also some interesting plot twists and combat sequences too. If you're a fan of sexy, yet still exciting anime, you'll like this.

At first I thought this was just another unbearable jingling big boobs anime, and was ashamed I had paid money for the first two episodes. However, after giving it more of a chance, I realized this was actually closer to Demon King, one of my favorite anime this year recently. I love the refferences to chess, and the constant debate over good versus evil on a grayer and reversed scale, with having the angels who, had fallen, be evil since wanting forgiveness ironically brings out their inner evil and they kill, "Evil" relentlessly. This series is actually pretty interesting.

This anime (& especially the fan service) is so over the top, that you can't help but like it. It is a typical harem story but they use the fan service as motivation for the main character. There is even a key battle sequence where the fan service, organically, propels the story forward. Also I don't know if the translations are getting better or just more sophisticated, but this & some other recent Anime titles are really starting to use sarcasm in a subtle & satisfying way. NSFW (Not Safe for watching with your Wife) but really fun.

This series is one whose premise follows something that could be greatly enjoyable for the fantasy anime viewer. However, this one seems to go quite overboard on the fanservice, which seems to distract from, rather than enhance the series. Not my cup of tea, but for those that like fanservice, this is something that provides gratuitous amounts of it plus an enjoyable storyline.

I feel I must warn all who would watch this series as to what they need to enjoy this show: -a firm grip on what is real and what is fantasy -a mature (NOT juvenile) approach to sexuality and nudity -a good sense of humor If you lack any of the above traits, DO NOT watch this show. It most likely will offend you. Otherwise, enjoy.

Hyodo Issei is not your average high schooler. In fact, he is a reincarnated devil who dreams of becoming the Harem King. He usually spends his school days in peace, together with his many friends. However, one day a devil named Diodora appeared...

Issei prepares for his school trip to Kyoto, but before he leaves, he must go with Rias and the others to the Gremory household so Rias can report the completion of her family. There, they meet Sairaorg, who requests a little hand-to-hand with Issei.

Issei and his classmates arrive in Kyoto. Although Issei is ready to enjoy Kyoto to the fullest, getting stronger is always on his mind. However, it seems training isn't the only thing to worry about in Kyoto. Powerful groups have begun to move.

Issei and the others continue their training, even while they fully enjoy themselves in Kyoto. Issei's group meets the mysterious nine-tailed fox once again and, this time, she begs them to help the youkai save her mother from the Chaos Brigade.

The Hero Faction has arrived and Cao Cao wants to cross blades with Azazel and the Red Dragon Emperor. In such a dire situation, Issei must respond quickly so all his friends make it out of this alive. Will he ever find his "potential" and release it?
