Women wear heels because they are socially obligated to wear them - either outright, or by being treated so differently based on whether they wear the heels or not, it becomes a de facto obligation. Just a few examples:
Many women’s clothes are designed with heels in mind. The proportions look “off” when worn with flats and the connotations can be damaging professionally: the same skirt that looks sharp with a three inch pump will look juvenile with a flat. You can still wear the flat, sure. You’ll just be much more likely to be mistaken for an intern.
When a man's shoes are in parallel with his feet, he can naturally stand up and walk.
But, because the girls wear high heels, the toes are elevated, the front is bent. Then they lean forward for this artificial height. Then he can't stand upright and physically loses balance and has difficulty moving.

The reason has to do with a concept called the Male Gaze . Let me explain quickly what it is in very simple words….

I personally hate high heels and it should not be 80% of shoe rack displays in shoe stores. Its almost as if the world wants women to suffer through back pains and ankle twists just to be able to ogle at swaying hips.
I am a 5ft nothing woman in my late 20s and I do not wear heels. Despite a lot of height related jokes, I am never tempted to wear heels of any kind.

I also observe whole attitude changes in some women depending their heel heights, but this has probably more to do with the change of posture induced by the toe standing position where one stands straighter to regain balance, therefore having a more self assured body language over all.

This varies so much from woman to woman. I think it has a lot to do with what kind of clothing she's most comfortable in and what her natural height is. Tall people hate heels, short people, love 'em.
I enjoy wearing heels because it makes me taller , and therefore [I think] makes me look better (I'm just under 5'5). A confidence booster , if you will. For example, when giving a presentation in front of many people, a tad bit more confidence is your best friend. Heels definitely do that for me. Or going out to a club with a bunch of new people. Most likely, women wear high heels for the main reason I wear them, as a man. I have the taste and like the look and feel of them on my feet. The simple classic and quality high heeled pumps like these:
upgrade any shirt and jeans outfit and for that matter any attired look to be “take it all in”, stunningly attractive. As a side note, these heels are snug fitting and have gone through a customizing process of pre-wearing them around the house so that I’m familiar with their feel and fit as I move about. I would say that most women do not like wearing heels. It's just that many of them believe that the benefits outweigh the costs , and there isn't really a more comfortable alternative that gives you the same boost in appearance . If flats could make you look as hot as heels, most of us would probably never wear heels again.
