The eight-part drama, filmed in Snowdonia, tells the story of detective DI Cadi John ( Sian Reese-Williams ), who returns to North Wales to care for her ailing father. However, when the body of a young woman is found in a local river, it becomes obvious that sinister secrets lie within the stunning North Wales scenery. Four of the major cast members of season 1 appeared in season 3 of the Welsh detective show Hinterland. Sion Alun Davies (DS Owen Vaughan) and Gwyneth Keyworth (victim Megan) played the son and daughter of a murdered preacher in episode 3.1. Sian Reese-Williams also appeared in that episode, as well as others, as a hotel owner. And Rhodri Meilier (predator Dylan) appeared in episode 3.2 as the boyfriend of a murder victim (Reese-Williams was also in that episode).
This is one of those shows where you could easily stop watching early on due to the slow pace of the early episodes, my advice is don't, watch it to the end, it is worth it. If you give up before episode 4 you will have missed out, it might take that long to really hook you in. It grabbed me from the very first episode and would not let go, but I was lucky enough to be able to binge watch all 8 episodes in one sitting, mind you it was late into the night when I finished watching it. If I was to compare this to any other show it would be The Fallen with Gillian Anderson, the only exception being that this is not about a serial killer as another reviewer has stated, it is far more involved and complex than that. If you like really well made, brilliantly acted (the acting really is sublime) detective shows that have depth, watch this and ignore the bad reviews by shallow people who could not have really watched this all the way through. You have to read subtitles, unless you can understand Welsh, but they are hardly noticeable when you get right into the show.

We currently offer our brewery tours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at noon. These are 45 min tours with one of our fabulous BrewHouse team. They will tell you a little bit about Hilden House and Barbour Threads Linen Mill.
A bit more about how we came to start a brewery in Hilden over 40 years ago as the first Independent Brewery in Ireland and a little bit more still about how we make our beer here in Lisburn. You will be able to see the brewhouse where the magic first began, the new brewhouse, bottling plant and canning line.
We will follow that up with a lovely bowl of our very own Irish stout stew and a slice of wheaten bread (how can you have one without the other!) and accompanied by a flight of three beers of your choice from the 8 taps in the Tap Room. (Groups of more than 10 will all receive the same three beers.
