So a few months back I got a couple of love bumps on my ding dong which went away after about a week. seeing as they have come back recently, I pretty much self-diagnosed as HSV2 because they look like herpes from what I see online.
Recently, however, I started talking to this girl through a dating app and we have been talking for a little while. She happens to be a porn star, not a very famous one, but she makes all of her money from porn. Travels all around etc.. and would like a relationship, which is kind of hard to find in that industry. I am open to this, but the thing is she says she has to get STD tests every two weeks or else she can’t participate in porn. And most guys she’s dating want to sleep around which makes it hard blah blah blah.....
Seeing how most people with herpes don’t show symptoms and are still contagious, wouldn’t pretty much everyone in porn have herpes? Because they very rarely use protection and have sex with an unimaginable amount of people. I’m just wondering if anybody knows any statistics about herpes in the porn industry.
Because I want to date this girl, but I haven’t told her yet that I have HSV2. I don’t want to like, ruin her career, but I’m afraid if I tell her she won’t want to see me. We’ve gone out a few times but never slept together, and we FaceTime daily and she’s really cool. Does anyone else know of anyone in porn who has herpes? I feel weird asking her about it.
For peace of mind, I would suggest you first get tested before telling her anything. I think knowing one’s full STD health is important and if she dates you, herpes isn’t the only thing she’ll be concerned about knowing. I don’t think it’s a major deal and still think you have a chance. I don’t have any statistics, but I’d have a hard time believing that no one in porn has it. Just take your time, get tested, and let everything fall into place. You got this.
Several porn stars have stated that everyone in the industry has herpes and they do not test for it in their regular panels.
I would assume most to almost all porn stars have it because they have sex with a lot of different people and condoms don’t prevent against it. Another thing is that generally porn stars are in shape so it means herpes is more likely to be asymptomatic so they might not get any outbreaks.

I disagree. I don't think there is any harm in building a relationship with someone before disclosing. I think that it's almost necessary because it's much easier for someone to accept herpes if they have gotten to know the person first. Obviously, tell her before sleeping with her though. I think this topic could be an excellent segway into a disclosure. Start by asking her if herpes really is abundant in the industry, and then move on to tell her what you have, the stats, etc.

i don’t have any knowledge if they test for it but it seems impossible for them to get reliable herpes tests every 2 weeks
