Here comes the Night

Here comes the Night

LeviS

Here they have me, the Heir, locked in a cage, blindfolded, me arms and me legs binded together in dirty clothes. And so I spend these lovely days in a room of iron. Your men, my lord, keep me company day and night, and we pretty much enjoy to play together with the heavy steel of yours... They shall be remembered, my lord, when the time comes... They are my friends, and they take a pleasure to play with me; I shall have pleasure playing with them as well. When the time is right. For you see, my lord, they fear not disgracing me, but the midst of them lacks the one who is disgraced enough to end me. For they know: I am not of flesh, I am not of bone. I carry a wicked truth, and my mortal vessel is but a shadow, painted so I can walk among men... But I am eternal. Spill my blood, it will poison the water you drink; cut my flesh, the land you walk shall not know of the sun anymore. Here comes the night, my Lord. You have long days ahead of you... You are still young and fresh, my lord, no matter the hair between your lips or the crown you wield over your head. So many jewels only serves you height. You will know of death, you will know of treason, you will know of madness. Listen carefully for the songs of your dreams, my lord, hear of every voice, as loud as the thunder, as whispering as the falling leave... Be prepared. For me, I shall wait. For here comes the night.
