A 21-year-old woman has been charged with incest after competing with her half-sister over who could have sex with their father first.
Samantha Kershner and her 39-year-old father Travis Fieldgrove were both arrested last week in Hastings, Nebraska after police received a tip about their sexual relationship.
Police said Kershner and Fieldgrove both admitted to having a romantic and sexual relationship even though they knew they were biologically related.
They got married in October - just one month after finding out police were investigating them.

They met for the first time three years ago when Kershner, then aged 17, told her mother she wanted to know who her father was.
Kershner and Fieldgrove met and maintained a father-daughter relationship for three years.
They told police they had sex for the first time in September last year. The pair would not reveal how their father-daughter relationship turned sexual.
According to charging documents, Kershner told police that she had a 'jealous competition' with her half-sister about who could have sex with their father first.
Kershner's mother notified police about their relationship in September.
Fieldgrove married his daughter the following month at the Adams County Courthouse after they found out they were being investigated for incest.

When they were questioned by police, Fieldgrove (above) said he didn't believe Kershner was his daughter because his name wasn't listed on the certificate
Marriage licensing requirements where they married state that both parties need to provide the full names of their parents before it can be approved.
Fieldgrove is not listed as Kershner's father on her birth certificate.

A paternity test that Fieldgrove and Kershner agreed to have in January found that there was a 99.999 percent probability that he was her father.
They were each charged with one count of incest and are both being held at Hall County Jail.
Fieldgrove's bond was set at $100,000, while Kershner is being held on a $20,000 bond.
They each face eight years in prison if convicted.

Eight years after Mackenzie Phillips revealed that she was once in a long-term incestuous relationship with her dad , her family relationships seem to be irrevocably damaged.

The former One Day at a Time star exposed in her first book, High on Arrival . the long-held secret that her dad, The Mamas & the Papas singer John Phillips, raped her at age 19 while they were under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The encounters continued, and they soon began a consensual, incestuous relationship lasting around 10 years.

In her new book, Hopeful Healing: Essays on Managing Recovery and Surviving Addiction , Phillips says that some family members still hold her accountable, and at one point disinvited her from a birthday party.

“Another family member was angered that I might attend, and I was told she was just not willing to forgive me yet. She wouldn’t forgive me ! For abuses perpetrated against me as a child, or for exposing those abuses perhaps,” she writes.

Phillips, a former drug addict who is now a drug rehab counselor at Breathe Life Healing Center, says that rather than holding on to the pain of being shunned by her family, she reaches out to her own counselor and loved ones for support.

“I’ve come to understand that some in my family have chosen to hold on to the pain and anger they felt when I came out with the truth about my dad,” she says. “I understand that they’re still caught in a textbook response of devaluing the victim and holding up the perpetrator.”

“I’ve also had to accept that, of course, I’d be the target of negative reactions and feelings because I’m the one who wrote the book and told a truth no one wanted to hear. If you’re trying to maintain some sort of façade so you can avoid pain, the last thing you want is for the façade to be demolished.”

When Phillip’s first book debuted in 2009, multiple family members spoke out against her — some accusing her of lying, while others were upset that she revealed a hidden family secret when her father, now dead, was unable to provide a counterpoint.

“Am I exceedingly joyful that my family secret that I told maybe my therapist, my husband and my very best friend in the whole word [is now public]? No,” Phillip’s half-sister, Chynna, told Oprah Winfrey on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show .

“I understand Mackenzie’s need to come clean with a history she feels will help others, but it’s devastating to have the world watch as we try and mend broken fences, especially when the man in question isn’t here to defend himself,” another of Phillip’s half-sisters, Bijou, said in a statement.

Photographer Liza Van Der Stock’s intimate project about a porn-producing family in Flanders was shortlisted for the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards.
In a Flemish village outside of Turnhout, Belgium, Laura and Maurice live together with their daughter Eva. They have all the trappings of a normal family, but when 9-year-old Eva is at school, Maurice and Laura start their day jobs as porn producers.
I photographed the family for two years for my project called Paradi$e Lu$t. They’ve given me unfettered access to both their personal and professional lives. The duo, more than anything, are small business owners: together they started a production company called “Stout!” around a decade ago. It’s still a modest operation: they produce the movies and both work the camera. And, from time to time, they are the porn stars as well.
Like Maurice and Laura, their other actors are ordinary people. They’re fathers and neighbors. Salesmen and postmen. The sex and the bodies are very real, not fake, not glamorous.
Maurice and Laura used to live above an erotic club they owned and filmed in, but they moved out to the quieter village once Eva got a little older. The most interesting thing about the village life was the process of gaining their new community’s acceptance. When Eva was new in her school there were some children who couldn’t play with her because their parents didn’t allow it. Laura really wanted everybody to accept them, so she threw a very big party for Eva’s birthday. She cleaned the house for two days and made it totally sex-free. She invited everybody from the school, also the parents. People came to realize that they are just normal people and since then she organizes the party each year.
Maurice and Laura are always very honest with Eva. They don’t want to lie to her. But of course they informed her about their job in words she can understand. She knows that they had a bar where naked people came to have a drink and to dance. Eva has a really good relationship with her parents and their job has never been an obstacle. And in my time with them, I saw a warm family with a very normal life that really separated their work life from their personal life. A moment I remember very well was when Eva received her first communion in church. Laura was very involved in the ceremony and afterwards there was a party in their new café. Friends and family came along and it was a very good day. In the porn Laura and Maurice make, actors are captured on tape as they are. My project aims to portray the family with that same humanity.
