E-Hentai is an image-hosting and file-sharing website focused on hentai (Japanese cartoon pornography ). The site hosts user-generated image galleries primarily of pornographic content originating or derived from anime , manga , and video games , such as fanart , scanlations of manga and dōjinshi , and cosplay photographs. Its sister site Exhentai (colloquially known as Sad Panda ) was spun off from E-Hentai in 2010 to host artwork that depicts material that is illegal in certain jurisdictions , such as lolicon , shotacon , and bestiality .

E-Hentai launched as a Yahoo! Group on July 1, 1999. The group moved to a .net domain in 2001 before moving to its current .org domain in 2005 after ownership of its .net domain lapsed and was purchased by another party. [1] On March 27, 2010, E-Hentai announced that in response to pressure from advertisers, it would no longer host artwork depicting underage characters ( lolicon and shotacon ) and bestiality . Existing galleries containing this content were deleted from the site, amounting to the removal of approximately 30,000 of the website's 150,000 galleries; this content was later spun off onto Exhentai, a sister site to E-Hentai. [2] Access to Exhentai requires an existing E-Hentai account; for individuals without an account, Exhentai appears as a blank page with an illustration of a crying panda , and has consequently has earned the nickname "Sad Panda" among users of the site. [3] In June 2019, both sites were removed from Google , per the company's policy of de-listing websites that violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act . [4]

On July 26, 2019, E-Hentai and Exhentai announced that both sites would shut down in response to "recent legislative changes in the Netherlands ", where the servers of the sites were hosted at the time. [2] Vice speculated that the shutdown was in reaction to the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market adopted by the European Union in June 2019, which makes digital platforms legally liable for material posted by users that violates copyright, as well as a July 2019 proposal by Dutch Minister of Justice Ferdinand Grapperhaus to impose harsher punishments on websites that do not rapidly remove child pornography. [5] 24 hours' notice was given for the shutdown of Exhentai, leading users on the image board 4chan to attempt to archive the entire site before it closed on July 27. [5] On August 2, 2019, Exhentai relaunched after its servers relocated to Moldova . [6]

Works posted to E-Hentai and Exhentai are typically pirated and are uploaded without the consent or knowledge of the original creators. [7] The site is owned and operated by an anonymous moderator who uses the handle Tenboro [5] and is funded through a combination of advertising revenue and donations; in 2009, E-Hentai estimated its annual hosting costs at USD$ 46,000, with donations covering "less than half" of operating costs. [2] In 2019, Tenboro stated that a persistent tendon injury limited their ability to perform timely maintenance on the website and that they were considering options for its future, such as naming a successor moderator or preserving the website as a permanent archive. [5] [8]

Collectively, E-Hentai and Exhentai are one of the largest databases of hentai manga and contain over 100,000 image galleries. [9] The site hosts both original Japanese hentai manga and scanlations in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Thai. [7] At its peak popularity, the commercial web traffic company Alexa ranked E-Hentai as the 264th-most popular website on the internet. [3] Outlets have noted that E-Hentai functions as a de facto archive for artwork that is rare or non-existent on other physical and digital platforms; the site hosts content such as Comiket -exclusive works ( dōjin ) and out-of-print art books that are both pornographic and non-pornographic in nature, with Vice calling the website the " Alexandria Library [ sic ] of hentai". [5] [3] The Daily Dot described E-Hentai as "a relic of 'the old internet ' ", citing it as an example of niche portals for digital content that predate contemporary social media . [3]

Pornhub is lifting the lid on America’s X-rated viewing habits, revealing their website’s most popular searches for 2021.
The most popular search term across the United States was “hentai” — a type of Japanese anime. Pornhub revealed that “hundreds of thousands of hentai videos can be found on our website, including professional productions, homemade animations made by fans and 3D generated scenes.”
On an equally bizarre end of the sexy spectrum, “The Suicide Squad” anti-hero Harley Quinn was the most-searched movie franchise or character, followed by Wonder Woman, Harry Potter, “Star Wars” and Black Widow.
Meanwhile, the most-searched porn star by Americans was Lana Rhoades , 25. The Illinois-born actress quit the industry earlier this year and says she now “regrets” making adult movies.
Rhoades was also the most popular porn star internationally, followed by Abella Danger, Eva Elfie, Riley Reid and Mia Malkova.
The adult site further revealed that Americans were the biggest porn consumers on the planet. Brits made up the second-largest share of Pornhub users, while the Japanese placed in third. The frisky French came in fourth, while Italians rounded out the top 5.
Pornhub released the dirty data in a press release on Wednesday .
“Ebony” remained the most-viewed category of video for the second year running, ahead of “lesbian” and “MILF.” Searches for the word “trans” were up 134% when compared with last year.
According to Pornhub, 67% of American visitors were male, although the share of female users slowly increased this year. The average age of a US Pornhub user was 37. However, sexed-up seniors aged 65 and over accounted for 7% of all visitors.
A whopping 85% of Americans chose to watch porn on their smartphone, perhaps hiding away in a bedroom or bathroom, with the average visit lasting just 9 minutes and 44 seconds.
Interestingly, users in Republican states lasted longer on the site, with Pornhub viewers in Wyoming, Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas all reporting an average visit time above 10 minutes.
However, Pornhub explained that those states may simply have slower internet speeds and not residents who last longer in the bedroom.
Meanwhile, the company claims Americans are “pretty regular when it comes to their masturbation schedule,” with Sunday the most popular day for self-pleasure. The website experiences the most traffic in the US around 11 p.m.
Notably, Pornhub experienced a dramatic drop in traffic during February’s Super Bowl, with Americans swapping frisky videos for football.
Traffic plunged almost 20% during the first half of the game but noticeably picked back up during halftime. That means many naughty NFL viewers snuck away for some self-pleasure instead of sticking around to watch The Weeknd perform the halftime show.

The new year is in full swing, and no matter how dire the news looks, at least we can take comfort in knowing there’s an insane amount of great animation out there and coming to you in the near future. And it’s easier to get your hands on than ever. In the age of streaming, there has never been as many anime and adult-skewing animated shows so accessible to fans old and new, meaning there’s a plethora of new shows for people to discover, as well as old shows saying their last goodbyes.
With the winter season almost over, there’s a whole group of new shows hitting the streaming services and networks that we cannot wait to see. Add to that the shows returning later in the year, and 2020 is promising to be an exciting year for animation fans.
With that in mind, we’ve prepared a list of the most exciting shows you should definitely keep an eye out for in 2020.
Why We Can’t Wait: Dracula is dead, long live Alucard! After last season ended with the shocking death of the main bad at the hands of vampire hunter Trevor Belmost and Dracula’s own son Alucard, this season will see the world’s remaining vampire leaders grappling to fill the power vacuum and take control of the human livestock previously under Dracula’s control. This season promises to introduce plenty of new characters and lore from the Castlevania canon as well as original creations, and of course, some of the most brutal fight scenes in recent animation. With its third season just landing on Netflix, it’s about time Castlevania is recognized as one of the best video game adaptations ever made.
Why We Can’t Wait: Cowboy Bebop writer Dai Sato takes on Altered Carbon in this anime-feature spin-off of the Netflix Original live-action sci-fi series. Set on Planet Latimer, the film features former soldier and investigator Takeshi Kovacs, who takes “the worst job ever” protecting a tattoo artist working for the yakuza. The original live-action series, based on the novels by Richard K. Morgan, holds a 75% Fresh Tomatometer score averaged over two seasons; Joel Kinnaman starred as Takeshi Kovacs in season 1, with Anthony Mackie taking over the role in season 2 after the character is again resleeved, and Will Yun Lee appearing across both seasons as the original Takeshi Kovacs (or “Kovacs Prime”). Why can’t we wait for this animated expansion of the Altered Carbon universe? Watch that trailer again.
Why We Can’t Wait: Though comparisons to Disney’s Zootopia are inevitable, the upcoming adaptation of the popular manga, Beastars , is definitely not kid-friendly. In a universe populated by anthropomorphic animals, tensions rise between the carnivores and herbivores of Cherryton Academy after an alpaca student is brutally murdered. At the same time, a timid wolf called Legoshi must navigate a world where your entire life has been determined by being born into a certain species, as well as his new set of complex feelings for Haru, a dwarf rabbit with a bad reputation. Beastars is complex and rich – a murder-mystery, a high-school drama, a coming-of-age story, and a romance all in one.
Why We Can’t Wait: For years fans have been anticipating an anime adaptation of Tower of God , one of the most popular South Korean webcomics out there, and it is finally almost here. The anime deals with a mysterious tower with unique and strange environments that grants all sorts of wishes and powers to explorers who reach the top. Two kids decide to climb the tower one day, and find that it is more difficult than they ever imagined. The webcomic resembles the movie Snowpiercer , with its elaborate world-building, stunning action, and its tackling of heavy themes like classism.
Why We Can’t Wait: Harley Quinn , the DC Universe hyper-violent, hyper-vulgar, and hyper-funny animated series starring one fantabulous Harley Quinn, was one of the best surprises of 2019, a show that followed Quinn as she broke up with Joker and tried to find her own way as a villain in Gotham. The show, much like the recent live-action movie starring Harley, is an offbeat take on the Batman mythos, with an off-the-chart jokes-per-minute ratio and a foul-mouthed and silly exploration of serious ideas that nevertheless will have you caring deeply for its titular character.
Why We Can’t Wait: One of the strangest and most criminally slept-on anime series from last year, No Guns Life is a gritty, cyberpunk thriller very much in the vein of Blade Runner , only it is set in a future where a war has turned many humans into cyborgs. It centers on a private detective with a literal giant revolver for a head, who gets involved in a conspiracy that could shatter society as he knows it. The show’s wild premise pulls you in easily, as does its dark metropolitan aesthetic, compelling stories, and — have we mentioned the character with a gun for a head?! Of course, expect tons of visually-inventive action, and an intriguing mystery.
Why We Can’t Wait: Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland has developed a new animated show, and it promises to be as vulgar, violent, and hilarious as the ultra-popular Adult Swim series. The series focuses on a family of aliens forced to live in Middle America who will have to determine if Earth is awful or simply awesome – they also find that it’s very easy to kill a lot of people accidentally in this world. That the show already has a two-season order before it even premieres only serves to make us more excited for more Roiland shenanigans. What Futurama is to The Simpsons , Solar Opposites could be to Rick and Morty .
