Newer the car the more costly the insurance is?

"However I was a stupid kid and obtained a DUI while in the state of PA in July of 2007. Today in Colorado I'm living after decades of traveling and learning overseas and about to purchase a car in a couple of months. I'm wondering if anybody knows if this DUI may perform with a major function in getting insurance
