Undefeated 20-0 (4 KO) Professional Boxer Heather "The Heat" Hardy received the WBC Belt in the first televised women's boxing match in almost 20 years. Hardy is a professional boxer from Brooklyn, NY and has been "fighting" to get women's boxing the visibility it deserves on national TV. Her efforts finally paid off on August 21, 2016 when Premier Boxing Champions and NBC Sports aired the fight, bringing women's boxing back with the crowd on their feet chanting "Hardy" through the entire program. The historical event occurred on the same day the USA received its 2nd consecutive Olympic Gold Medal ever in women's boxing, both won by the same woman. "This just means so much to women's boxing -- they can't ignore us anymore," said Heather Hardy.
Hardy currently holds two division WBC Champion Belts, Super Bantamweight and Featherweight. Heather was the first woman to be signed to a long term promotional contract to DiBella Entertainment , currently the biggest boxing promoter in NY. She is also the first woman to box professionally and be put on the card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY and now the first to be televised on national television in almost two decades. In 2017 she was awarded the Golden Glove Award by Mayweather Productions for the work she's done diversifying the sports industry through her remarkable success as a female boxer and continuous achievements in the industry.
In 2017 she made her debut at Madison Square Garden as an MMA fighter with Bellator winning by TKO.  A press favorite, she's quoted as saying "I think I just fell in love, I'm hooked" when asked what she thought about fighting in a cage.
She trains at the World Famous Gleason’s Gym located in Brooklyn, NY which has been home to many boxing champions over the years. Outside of training, she's a single mother and a personal boxing trainer working out of Shadowbox with celebrities and business professionals.

Home MMA News WATCH: Hottest Female In MMA Goes Viral At Weigh-Ins & DESTROYS Opponent

Gentleman Jeff - Sep 10, 2016 0

While Conor McGregor's next fight will be against someone other than Nate Diaz, there can be little doubt that a Nate vs. Conor trilogy...
Wow…After such a red hot performance in New York, boxing standout Heather Hardy has a bright future in MMA…
There’s been a lot of talk about how well boxers would do in MMA lately. Well, at Bellator 180 in New York City last night, we saw a boxing pro absolutely dominate in her MMA debut. Heather Hardy is red hot right now for many reasons.
Not only is she an absolute stunner in terms of looks, she has hands like sledge hammers. As a boxer, ‘The Heat’ is undefeated at 20-0 (1 NC). She’s won international boxing titles in three weight classes, and last night embarked on a new career path.
Needless to say, there were many eyeballs watching after her weigh-ins outfit went viral.
Coming out looking to impress, Hardy absolutely dominated her opponent. The end of the fight was as grizzly and brutal as could be. Bloodied, battered and completely beaten, Yauger was saved by Big John McCarthy before round one ended.
With a first round finish now under her belt, the MMA future is very bright for Hardy. Watch as she dismantles Yauger:

Elsewhere on the card, Fedor Emelianenko was knocked out by Matt Mitrione after a double knockdown. Aaron Pico and Michael Chandler lost to Zach Freeman and Brent Primus respectively in huge upsets.
Check out the full list of results below:

James Gallagher def. Chinzo Machida, submission (Round 1, 2:22)
Heather Hardy def. Alice Yauger, TKO (Round 1, 4:47)
“I think I just fell in love,” Hardy told reporters following her win over Alice Yauger. “I just worked so hard, and now I can say I did it too. A lot of people said I couldn’t do it or I wouldn’t do it. And I did.”
“I’ll never leave boxing,” Hardy said. “There are girls I still want to fight in boxing. It’s not something I plan on walking away from. … I can’t wait to practice some new stuff. I’m learning.”
“(I want to be) as active as I can be,” Hardy said. “I want to take the fights that makes sense, the fights maybe people want to see, fights people want to see me fight. I’m open to talk, whether it’s boxing or MMA. Let’s do whatever makes sense. I like to fight.”
“That would be so disrespectful for me at 1-0 in MMA to talk about fighting for a title,” Hardy said. “Even in boxing I don’t run around saying I deserve anything. When the organization thinks I’m ready, that’s when we go.”

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Heather Hardy (born January 25, 1982) is an American professional boxer and mixed martial artist . In boxing, she held the WBO featherweight title from 2018 to 2019. She is also a trainer, living and working in Brooklyn , New York . [2] [3] [4] As of September 2020, she is ranked as the world's third best active female featherweight by BoxRec [5] and fourth by The Ring . [6]

Heather Hardy was born on January 25, 1982 to John and Linda Hardy [7] and is of Irish descent . [8] [9] She has two younger siblings, Kaitlyn and Colin. Hardy had married her highschool sweetheart in 2004, but after some hard times the pair divorced in 2010. [10] [4] [11] Hardy was raised in Gerritsen Beach in South Brooklyn.

While in school, Hardy was active in athletics, aspiring to become the first female pitcher for the New York Yankees. Hardy went on to major in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan. [3] She graduated at the age of 22.

Heather started boxing in 2010 when she was going through a rough patch in her life: she was working a series of miscellaneous jobs to support her daughter, sister, and nephew and finalizing a divorce with her husband who would not pay child support. Within three weeks of training, Hardy, a 28 year old rookie, had her first fight in front of an average sized audience in Long Island, and won. Even though her first fight was just meant for fun, it helped her find out that boxing was her calling.
[12] Regarding her first time in the ring, Hardy said "I'm shy by nature, so walking to the ring was like heading to the gas chamber. I'm probably exaggerating the crowd size, but it felt like I was in the Macy's Parade. When I got to my corner, a cousin told me to pretend a tiger was dropped in the ring and only one of us was getting out alive. I pummeled that girl so bad. And for the first time in my life, I felt like something was all mine. Ever since, I've had the passion to beat up the world. I still fight that way". Shortly after, she quickly began winning other kickboxing and Muay Thai titles. [13] Her determination and passion were soon noticed when she caught the eye of a professional trainer who offered to let her train at Gleason's Gym. Hardy began to grow in popularity on the boxing scene and soon became known for her tenacity and determination in and out of the ring. In regards to what others thought about her fame, she mockingly said "'Yeah right, who's this little blonde white girl with the braids?' They knew me quick because I started tearin' ass". Despite her newfound popularity, Hardy remains humble; she can still be found selling tickets before her fights and training clients at Gleason's. [13] In 2016, Hardy made major strides for women's boxing by landing a televised gig on NBCSN against Shelly Vincent. [14]

Hardy was scheduled to make her professional MMA debut against Brieta Carpenter at Invicta FC 21 . However, the bout was cancelled due to an injury by Carpenter. [15]

Hardy made her professional MMA debut at Bellator 180 in a flyweight bout against Alice Yauger on June 24, 2017 at the Madison Square Garden . [16] She won the fight via TKO in the third round. [17]

Hardy faced Kristina Williams in a flyweight contest at Bellator 185 . [18] She lost the bout via TKO due to a doctor stoppage in the second round after a head kick from Williams shattered her nose. [19]

Hardy faced Ana Julaton on February 16, 2018 at Bellator 194 . [20] She won the fight via unanimous decision. [21]

Hardy faced Taylor Turner at Bellator 222 on June 14, 2019. She lost the fight via first round TKO. [22]

On July 10, 2021, it was announced that she was no longer under contract with Bellator. [23]

Following her rise to fame, Hardy has been a persistent voice for women's boxing. In 2013, shortly after women's boxing was declared as a featured sport in the 2012 London Olympics, an independent film director named Natasha Verma tackled the subject of the gender wage gap in boxing through her film "Hardy". [24] She interviewed Hardy on her experiences and talked about how she was changing the face of a generally male dominated sport. [24]

In 2016, Hardy partnered with Dove on their #MyBeautyMySay campaign. [25] [26]
