Every show has one: A character who just seems to have this innate ability to make everyone single person he or she comes into contact with fall madly in love. This phenomena is interesting on pretty much any show but on teen-centric TV, it is positively fascinating. The show’s resident heartbreaker has the power to bring more drama than even the most scandalous plot twists.
These five fictional characters have had some seriously strong game. They’ve made everyone from their best friends to inappropriate paramours fall head over heels, time after time. And yes, it’s totally normal to hate this character a little bit. It comes along with the heartbreaker territory.

Casey Cartwright was the college dream. A cute, perky girl with above average intelligence and unparalleled devotion to her sorority. Casey was also the girl who managed to drive a major wedge between two best friends – who, by the way, happened to be two of their college’s most sought-after guys – because they were both head over heels for her. She picked up several other suitors along the way, including (but not limited to) a high school student, her brother’s fanatically religious roommate, and a brilliant science enthusiast. Still, it was her ability to make Evan, an unequivocal catch, and Cappie, the most charming dude ever, fall hard for her that made her a legendary TV heartbreaker.

Ugh. So Rory was perfect. She was not only genetically blessed, (perfect skin, world’s largest eyes, the ability to eat anything and never exercise without gaining weight) she was also super smart and annoyingly sweet. Oh, and she had an amazing mom (also a major heartbreaker) and a fabulous set of wealthy, doting grandparents. Bitch had it all so it’s no wonder she also had a handful of guys vying for her love. Oh, and one of these guys happened to be from a straight up dynasty of a family. SPOILER ALERT : She was such a heartbreaker, she even turned down a marriage proposal from dynasty boy. She also inspired her married ex to cheat on his wife and got the most reticent bad boy in teen TV history to profess his love to her. Well played, Rory. Well played.

Lucas Scott formed one-third of one of TV’s most legendary love triangles. Whether you were Team Leyton or Team Brucas, you knew that Lucas was worth ruining a lifelong friendship over – I mean, look at him! He was seriously romantic, too. He even saved the life of his OTL (several times.) It’s really not a coincidence that the show went downhill after Lucas left. His heartbreaker appeal just made this glorious teen drama what it was. Oh, and lets not forget about the other ladies who desperately wanted to be with him: Super hot Rachel Gatina and that awful Lindsay Srauss he almost married.

It’s really no wonder Silver was the 90210 reboot’s biggest heartbreaker – she was just following in the footsteps of her half-sister, Kelly, who made every dude ever fall hard in the original series. Erin Silver literally had a thing with every male character in the main cast (unless you include the male adults and really, who does?) She also scored most of these guys while she was dating someone else or while they were dating one of her friends. Seriously, how did she manage to stay friends with all these guys??? They all continued to admire and respect her through it all. She even managed to hold on to her female friends after she stole all their men. It kind of made sense, though. I mean, Silver was really smart, strong, principled (unless you count to boyfriend-stealing) and super pretty, even with a notoriously hard-to-pull-off pixie cut. Unfortunately, her heartbreaker status didn’t stop her from having the worst fate of any character on the show in its finale.

Well, Serena did have Blake Lively’s hair/face/body so it does sort of make sense that everyone would want her even though she was kind of the worst. Regardless, she was an epic heartbreaker. Everyone from fine ass Nate Archibald to smart ass Dan Humphrey was head over heels for her. Of course, we can’t forget that basically every minor character on the show was also into her, including Steven Spence, multiple teachers and maybe even Georgina Sparks (I know I’m not the only one who thought her season 1 harassment of Serena seemed like the work of a jilted lover.) Serena may have had a seriously annoying, occasionally evil personality but her amazing looks, fabulous wardrobe, impressive pedigree, charming (according to some) personality and undeniable star quality put her in a league of her own.

PM Silvio Berlusconi denies accusations he paid for sex with underage girl.
Feb. 16, 2011— -- When Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi appears in court this spring to defend himself against charges that he paid to have sex with a minor, the prosecution's star witness will be an 18-year-old Moroccan girl with a tantalizing monicker -- Ruby the Heartbreaker .
Berlusconi, who at 74 is one of Italy's richest men and certainly one of the most flamboyant, is trying to live up to his nickname of Il Cavalieri.
"I am not worried in the least," the prime minister said today.
Ruby doesn't seem too worried either and appears to be basking in the spotlight. According to Britain's Daily Mail, she is planning to pen a book about her relationship with the prime minister.
What is known of her story so far includes being a runaway who danced in nightclubs before she emerged at the center of Italy's biggest scandal in a generation. The story is studded with stories of being a relative to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, an arrest for theft, and lavish "bunga bunga" parties with a naked prime minister.
Karima el-Mahroug , also known as Karima Keyek, but best known as Ruby the Heartbreaker, is now 18.
But she told prosecutors in Milan last year that the prime minister showered her with thousands of dollars worth of cash and jewelry and invited her to two sex parties at a time when she was only 17.
For all of the lurid allegations Ruby has made, she has consistently denied that she ever had sex with Berlusconi. In interviews with the media and investigators Ruby has said the only money she ever received from the prime minister were gifts to help her out financially and not money for sexual favors.
She also admits she lied about her age, telling the prime minister she was 24.
"He knew that I was 24 years old because I told everyone that I was 24 years old," Ruby told Italian news station Sky TG24. "I didn't want people to know that I was a minor."
When asked if she had sex with Berlusconi, she replied: "Absolutely no."
"It the first time in my life that a man has not tried to take me to bed. He behaved like a father, I swear," she told the newspaper La Repubblica last year.
It's not clear how a Moroccan runaway and club dancer got to know the prime minister. She has said she was abused as a child, ran away from an orphanage and became a dancer in an Italian nightclub.
"I just arrived in Milan, and it was a little difficult living there," she said. She told the Sky TG24 that Berlusconi took pity on her and gave her some money to help her out financially.
A friend "spoke with [Berlusconi] and explained my situation, my story, my family situation," she said. "And he helped me."
At one point Ruby became the ward of Nicole Minetti, a former showgirl turned politician in Berlusconi's party.
Berlusconi is accused of paying teenager Karima el-Mahroug, better known as Ruby the Heartbreaker.
Ruby described one encounter with Berlusconi at a "bunga bunga," a kind of orgy in his Milan mansion that she claims the prime minister learned about from Libyan dictator Muammar Kaddafi. At the orgy, she said, Berlusconi was naked and surrounded by some 20 nude women, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
Berlusconi's relationship with Ruby became public last year, when it emerged that the prime minister had intervened when police arrested her for theft. Berlusconi is accused of calling the police in March and sending Minetti to intervene. Minetti is also under investigation.
Berlusconi reportedly told the police Ruby was Mubarak's niece. The Egyptian embassy in Rome denied the relationship.
The premier has admitted to calling the police on Ruby's behalf, but claims he did so because she was an underprivileged girl in trouble.
Berlusconi has denied the accusations since they emerged late last year. He has called the investigation and indictment against him "groundless" and a "farce."

The card handling that Jennifer Love Hewitt does in the restaurant (saying it relaxes her) was taught to her by stage magician Ricky Jay . She actually learned more tricks than that, but was unable to do them in the movie because she broke her finger. Ricky Jay plays the auctioneer in the film and is also in the credits as "technical adviser : con games."

One of the funniest comedies of the year. *** (out of four)
HEARTBREAKERS / (2001) *** (out of four) Starring: Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ray Liotta, Jason Lee, Jeffrey Jones, Gene Hackman, Nora Dunn, and Anne Bancroft. Directed by David Mirkin. Written by Robert Dunn, Paul Guay, and Stephen Mazur. Produced by John Davis and Irving Ong. Rated PG-13 (for sexual content and language). Released by MGM Productions. It is becoming a genuine tradition for movies with sexy stars and seductive content to believe that males of all ages view the world not with their brain, but with the external organ between their legs. "Heartbreakers" does a convincing job at persuading us to agree, if we guy audience members can ourselves get past the ample amounts of cleavage and sexy dialogue inhabiting by this PG-13 rated comedy that contains enough suggestive material and revealing midriffs for many parents to pause over. The film is another mother-daughter story about letting your children grow up-but disguised itself as a hilarious comedy about sensuous swindlers who make their own luck. It makes us laugh because of the irony of its situations, and it makes us smile because of the knowledge of the writing by Robert Dunn, Paul Guay, and Stephen Mazur. "Heartbreakers" is easily one of the funniest comedies of the year. The film stars Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love-Hewitt as Max and Page, two conniving con artists who use their good looks to get what they want. As the movie opens, Max is married to small-time Jersey womanizer Dean Cumanno (Ray Liotta), but the marriage is short lived when Max shows up at his office the next day only to find her newlywed fooling around with an attractive younger woman-her daughter, Page. The whole act was a setup for a abrupt and easy divorce settlement, with the two double-dealers coming away from the act with their pockets overloaded with three-hundred thousand dollars and a really nice car. Page is growing up and wants to start a business on her own, but her mother thinks she is not yet ready and finds them both in a demanding circumstance: the IRS needs lots of money real soon from Max and Page. A spiteful agent (Anne Bancroft) explains that their accounts have been drained and criminal charges are about to be pursued. Page coincides to help her mother with one last job in order to pay off the alleged debts. They find the perfect target in Palm Beach, an aging tobacco exec named William B. Tensy (Gene Hackman), who is worth over twenty million. Although neither Page or Max find this smelly chain smoking, old man particularly attractive, Max poses as a Russian aristocrat named Ulga Yevanova, while Page finds her way with Tensy as a revealing housekeeper for his local mansion.
This last job ultimately poses a few problems for Max and Page. Max finds herself followed by Dean, who seeks another martial bliss. Page finds herself falling in love with the kind-hearted owner of a local bar (Jason Lee), who is worth three million dollars. Max wants her to go for his pocketbook, but Page really has feelings for this person-even though romance is against her better judgment. The two must decide how to deal with these situations, all while persuading Tensy to further fall for Max in attempt to pay off the IRS. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver deliver performances that are both sexy and funny. They are also very well cast; making perfect and believable mother-daughter chemistry. There are also some funny performances from the strong supporting cast. Gene Hackman makes a fool out of himself with a character on the other side of the world from anything he has recently done. The charismatic young actor Jason Lee ("Almost Famous," "Mumford") furnishes a convincing romantic interest-although there is little chemistry between Hewitt and him. Anne Bancroft ("The Graduate," "Great Expectations") fits in with the crowd gleefully. Other small roles from Jeffrey Jones ("The Devil's Advocate," "Sleepy Hollow") as a hotel manager and Nora Dunn ("Three Kings") as a maid framed for house robbing her own employer, are also entertaining. Director David Mirkin struck out with the 1997 comedy "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion," but here captures the perfect tone for the comic material. Hearty laughs are frequent and big-and it takes a lot to make me laugh. The film prospers with a script that provides its amusing characters with many active situations and plot twists that are unanticipated and effective. Eventually, however, the film becomes rapped up in a sappy love story that somewhat gets in the way of the comedy. The movie's tone becomes a little too serious, and we end up feeling cheated out of even more boisterously entertaining moments. When it comes to getting tons of laughs out of the audience, the film prospers with no problems. Hewitt and Weaver make great career moves, especially after they each tried their strings with failed serious films (Weaver's past several "Alien" movies have bombed, and Hewitt could not do a thing with "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer). "Heartbreakers" contains enough effective comic material to warrant more than a single viewing. It is one of the best comedies of the year.

Whether it was your teen’s first true love or a summer fling, the end of a relationship can be emotionally wrenching for a teenager just learning about heartbreak. One minute, they're flying high on the wings of love, and the next, they've crashed into a sea of heartache.

Fortunately, you can use a breakup as an opportunity to teach your teen how to deal with pain, rejection, disappointment, and other emotions that often accompany the end of a relationship. Of course, you also want to avoid the things that could make your teen feel even worse.

Patience is key. The biggest lesson to pass on to your teen is that heartache takes time to heal, but with time, it will.

Resist the urge to minimize your child’s emotions; just because you didn’t think the relationship was that important or would last forever doesn’t mean that your teenager didn’t feel strongly about their former significant other. While it’s unlikely that they would have lived happily ever after, your teen perhaps thought that they would. Regardless, the pain is real and significant to your teen.

Validate your teen’s feelings by saying, “I know this is hard,” or “I know it’s sad when a relationship comes to a
