About the Role
As Head of Engineering, you will be a strategic leader, responsible for scaling and guiding a high-performing engineering team. You will collaborate closely with other department heads and the executive team to deliver on our mission of transforming the fintech landscape. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong technical expertise, and leadership capabilities. With your leadership, Punto Pago will maintain its competitive edge while continuously delivering innovative and secure software solutions.
Responsibilities
• Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent, creating a high-performing team that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring timely and on-budget completion.
• Technical Excellence: Drive best practices in software development, architecture, infrastructure, and quality assurance to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders to define and execute the technical strategy aligned with our business objectives.
• Remote Work Optimization: Build and maintain a thriving remote work culture for the engineering team.
Requirements
• Experience: 2+ years in a leadership role within software engineering, ideally in fintech, and 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Expertise in software architecture, infrastructure, and development best practices.
• Team Management: Proven ability to build, scale, and manage engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Global Experience: Fluent English and experience working with English-speaking teams.
• Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
