Have you played Minecraft on an M1 Mac?

The positive reviews for the new Macs, especially the MacBook Pro, make me desire to upgrade my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. I was a Mac user during the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However, I switched to Windows some time ago.
I have a lot of programs that that I've heard work well on M1, but do you know if Minecraft (Java) works on an M1 Mac. It's one of my favorite games and I don't think I can replace my computer with one that does not support it. Java is available on ARM however I've never heard of anyone playing Minecraft on an M! Mac!

Highly recommend it. The M1 Mac will blow your surface to the ground performance-wise. It's only a matter time until Minecraft is optimized for the M1. Until then, you can really run both versions. Bedrock (because M1's can natively run apps for iOS and iPadOS) and Java (translated real-time running Rosetta 2 that is built in. You won't even notice the difference.
I tried to side load Minecraft to my M1 Mac, but the mouse and keyboard would not work. How did you side load it, sir?

Information from the video: Java is not a native M1 application, so it must use Rosetta 2 emulation.
He has compared the Baseline 7 core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP generated the world (same source on both) like a second faster however the MacBook Air seemed to be getting a bit better FPS for whatever reason (he used the same settings for graphics on both).
The problem in this review is that he had Vsync running, so the FPS is limited to 60 FPS. It would have been interesting to find out how high it could really go
iOS, Android and Windows 10 versions of Minecraft all play well together, whereas the PC and Mac versions of Minecraft will not work with the Pocket Edition Realms server. In other words, if you have an iOS device and your buddies are all using Android it is still possible to play with them.
