So I just can't play this game, it is just too freaking hard, like why did they make it this difficult to play. I have found no enjoyment in this game once or ever, like I don't ever stand a chance against the enemies. How the hell do people enjoy this game. From the 2/3 hours I have played this game (ignore the actual playtime because this is my family's account and my brother has played a lot of this game) I have had no enjoyment because I am constantly down whenever I engage with any enemy. I have 0 dollars so I can't buy any guns because when ever I fight I just get down. What the hell am I doing wrong here, is there an easy mode, is there a leveling guide I can follow, is there anything that can help me not constantly die. It's like I never get any good guns at all they are all crap pistols or exploding shot AR which shoot way to slow for my liking. I have not found a better weapons than the gearbox sniper I started with and I'm still using that at level 10. I'm playing as the character zero because he was the sniper guy and I like snipers, but I just can't play this game and enjoy it. Thank you for all your comments and help, it really means a lot to me.

id suggest trying a different character as zero has a high learning curve. any character can you any weapon type so you can still use snipers with another character. id suggest either axton or maya as they both have action skills that allow you to focus enemies. axton has a turret that can draw enemy aggro and can do a lot of damage to help you out in the early game and maya can phaselock an enemy, rendering them unable to move or attack for a few seconds, allowing you to focus them down.

Zero is a glass cannon. He'll go down easily if you run around in the open. There are definitely better weapons tham the gearbox rifle. The rifle from bad hair day can be used all the way up to flint.

If you’re just starting out I’d play Salvador, he’s pretty forgiving. After a playthrough with him you should be experienced enough to try different characters.

I'm going to be honest, the problem is neither with the game, nor with your ability to play the game. Gearbox was actually pressured by the community to release a DLC which made the game harder past level 50, which they did. The reason you're not doing that well is actually very simple: You're trying to use level 1 gear at level 10. After around 3 levels or so, weapons will reduce in damage. That measns that if a gun is underleveled, it will basically tickle enemys, no matter the damage on the card. Literally every gun you will find after the gearbox sniper will be/is better. Every one. Don't forget your shield. They help greatly with survivibility. Don't worry about buying guns. Honestly, the vendors should never be used. Just fight through some areas, pick up weapons that enemies drop, and open weapon chests. I'm sorry that i cant help you more, but thats honestly the only issue. Your gear is just really freaking underleveled, and you NEED to get another one, as close to your current level as possible

Did you do the early sidequest from Hammerlock to get fur? It gives a new sniper rifle that's usually pretty good for awhile, and yes, if I'm remembering right, the Gearbox rifle is always Jakobs, so it's a slow rifle with a lot of damage, meanwhile other rifles will have a lot more fire rate which is much easier to use

Try Maya. Wonderful with snipers (any guns, really), good healing AND damage skills. She's the perfect all-round toon in this game. Can be soloed to OP8 without much OP gear. She's wonderful with snipers. But, like any of the toons, you need to learn the game's basics first. Zer0 is a bad toon to continue playing if you are currently having trouble with him. His skill trees focus on damage, little on healing. He's tricky to play until you "get" him. From your description, there is more you are having trouble with than your toon. All the toons play pretty similarly in the first play through, even into the second. This is the time to learn the game's mechanics. I'd be willing to chat with you at depth about this if you wish, am closing in on 5k hours. I play legit. Have soloed the game many times. No Sal. Often what I've found with new players who are having trouble is that it doesn't take a lot of adjustments in their understanding and play to dramatically improve. [edit: just read Nakos' post. Very useful info there.]
