Happy Teachers’ Day! 🎉
UNESCO Uzbekistan🏫 Teachers are at the heart of education. Behind every student’s achievement and every community’s progress is a teacher who shares knowledge, opens doors to new possibilities, inspires confidence and encourages young people to believe in their potential.
At UNESCO, we are proud to stand with teachers. We believe that meaningful change in education begins with empowered, supported and valued teachers.
🌍 On #WorldTeachersDay, we will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, adopted by UNESCO and the International Labour Organization (ILO), which is an opportunity to renew that commitment. As we work with Member States to revise the 1966 Recommendation and ensure that it reflects the realities of teaching in the twenty-first century, its fundamental purpose remains unchanged. It continues to provide a strong foundation for strengthening the teaching profession and expanding access to quality education for every learner.
Dear teachers, together with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, we are working to strengthen teachers’ professional development and create opportunities for learning, sharing and growing together.
Through our programmes, more than 350 mentor teachers are being trained in modern pedagogy, digital technologies and AI-supported teaching. And through the mentorship programme, these mentors are supporting more than 3,500 teachers in their own schools — sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences and helping colleagues strengthen their teaching practices.
This is what standing with teachers means: supporting and creating the conditions for teachers to shape the future with confidence.
Today, we express our gratitude to every teacher for your dedication, patience and commitment. Your work matters — to every learner, every school and to the future of Uzbekistan.
Happy Teachers’ Day!
