String theory is currently our best known candidate for a quantum theory of gravity. One of the advances of string theory is the AdS/CFT correspondence which establishes a duality between a quantum-theory and a gravity theory. This duality is a manifestation of the holographic principle which in a deep sense proposes a universal relation between geometry and information.
My research mostly focuses on gravitational holography for better understanding the quantum aspects of gravity and black holes. Quantum mechanics shows that black holes are thermodynamical objects. It is desirable to associate a statistical mechanical description if not a full quantum description to these thermodynamical systems. The holographic principle, states that a gravitational system can be equivalent to a system with a lower number of spacetime dimensions. This principle is my major approach to tackle this problem.

Scientific Career
I did my doctoral studies at Sharif Uni. of Tech. and TU Wien. My thesis advisor was Daniel Grumiller. I started a postdoc in TU Wien right after my PhD and then in 2013 moved to Groningen for a new postdoc. In 2015 I started my academic career for five years in IPM, Tehran. I am currently a professor in Ferdowsi university of Mashhad.
Research areas
gauge/gravity duality, black holes, higher-spins, flat space holography, massive gravity.
