Haiku, the Robot
Luz
Plot (spoilers, but you'll enjoy digging into it yourself):
You are a little robot named Haiku, who wakes up in the underground world of Arcadia 200 years after humanity died out. This whole mechanical paradise is being devoured by a Virus that turns peaceful robots into aggressive bastards. You are the last hope, and in your hands you don't have a sword, but a chip — a huge piece of metal with sharpened edges called the Kill Switch Sword.

You walk through the ruins, meet quirky NPCs, find the three creators of Arcadia, and try to figure out what the fuck happened here. And then the game takes a twist: it turns out the virus isn't the main villain, but the consequence of a betrayal and the murder of the fourth creator, Atom, who wanted to bring organic life back to the earth. The three remaining creators aren't saviors, but fucking hypocrites who killed their brother and disguised it as a catastrophe. The finale, where you fight all three at once, isn't just a boss fight — it's a trial over Arcadia's past.

Gameplay (Hollow Knight, but with heart and no pretentiousness):
Haiku is essentially Hollow Knight for those who are tired of suffering. The controls are sharp and responsive, the sword strikes are weighty, and the movement is pure joy. You have Overheating — an analog of soul from HK: dashing and some abilities heat up the bar, and if you overheat, you sit and wait for it to cool down. The heal here is unique as fuck: to restore health, you spend money (Spare Parts). So healing is literally burning cash. And there's a chip system that lets you customize your playstyle. The world is huge and interconnected, with tons of secrets, shortcuts, and unique biomes. The map is non-linear, and you can genuinely go anywhere from the very start.

What hooks you (why you'll fall in love and you'll be right):
This game is an aesthetic orgasm. Pixel art in the GameBoy style, but with modern detail and colors that create the feeling that you're walking through a dying but still beautiful mechanical graveyard. Each location has its own unique look and enemies that logically fit into the ecosystem of the ruins. The NPCs here aren't just quest dummies. You meet the robot Mundo — a giant elevator too big for the virus to infect, and he just says warm words of support to you. You find WALL-E (yes, literally), who is forever searching for his Eve. You see NPCs die over the course of the story, and you can't do a damn thing about it. This creates the feeling that you're not just playing through a game, but living out the last days of this world.

Music and atmosphere:
The soundtrack here isn't just background — it sets the mood. Quiet, melancholic melodies that fit perfectly with the pixel landscapes. The sounds of hits, footsteps, overheating — all of it feels tactile. When you're running through corridors and hear that characteristic overheating beep, you understand that you need to slow down, or you'll be taken apart for spare parts.

Verdict (from the heart):
Haiku, the Robot is a game you feel. It doesn't try to be harder than it needs to be. It doesn't punish you for mistakes the way Hollow Knight does. It invites you into its world, gives you a sword-chip, a warm sweater (just kidding, robots don't wear sweaters), and says: "Go, see what happened here." And you go, and you fall in love with every pixel, with every broken robot, with every drop of oil on the floor. If you're a fan of the genre and Hollow Knight clicked for you, but you want something warmer, more human (a paradox, right?), and more honest — this is your pick. This game is a love letter written by one person for everyone who can see beauty in ruins.
