📍Griboedov Canal Emb.123, room 201

The dissemination of a visual chronicle of Catherine II's reign was part of the empress's cultural policy. The works of court painters were actively reproduced in engravings, for which Western engravers were specially invited to the country. A response to Catherine's artistic policy can be found in the works of English caricaturists of the late 18th century. The peculiar dialogue between two artistic poles - Russian court painting and English satirical engravings - is unique evidence of the coherence of the visual text of the epoch.

🖼 Exhibition "The Mole's Foot Fortress"
📅 Until 22.02.
📍Name Gallery
The exhibition explores the experience of “subterranean vision”, when tactile sensations and attention to detail become the key to understanding. Through the complex ornamentation of time, Galia Fadeeva's works open up possibilities for a new perspective on memory, care and the hidden beauty of forgotten worlds. In her art practice, Galia constructs dreamlike narratives. At the art mediation we will turn to the prose and poetic works that inspire the artist in creating her works.
🖼 Exhibition «City of Lost Adults»
📅 Until 16.03.
📍anna nova
“City of Lost Adults” invites you to travel through a mysterious world inspired by American mass culture and mysterious aesthetics of computer games of the 90s. The title of the project refers to the game “The City of Lost Children”, which in his childhood was remembered by the artist for its specific atmosphere and pre-threat palette. Its contrast between detailed, motionless backgrounds and angular, low-polygon characters became the starting point for the project.
