HOW TO MAKE SECRET WOOD RINGS (NO POWER TOOLS) Tutorial polymer clay resin craft diy

Will you be taking the blue ring or the red ring, depending which one you take, we will go deeper into Wonderland. I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. What'S up guys, this is Jackie, our nerdy crafte, and for this week's the girls I wanted to make a rhythm and fake would ring so many people have been making these rings, but everyone's been making them with power tools. So for this tutorial we're going to be making a wood effect with polymer clay. Of course, if you want to see the versions with power tools, I would leave links for them in description box below. I absolutely love the texture of the top part and how it looks like wood that was broken for those of you new to my channel. Don'T forget, subscribe to our plenty of geeky drills to keep you entertained. I upload every week so make sure you come back to check them out if you want more cute DIYs check out the sweeter side. My friend, Elise from my cupcake addiction, opened up a new channel so check her out and give her much love. If you like, the project, don't forget to smash that button, there is absolutely no right way to say the word smash. The full list of everything we're going to be using will be in description box below, as well as the clay I'm using is from sculpey the UV resin you can find at Sophie and toffee. The first thing we're going to do is the finger ring base and that's finger space ring base yeah, so you're going to cut out a piece and then measure it on your finger. I happen to have found a bottle that is more or less the same size as my sausage fingers. Of course, you can use anything kind of like a can or a glass bottle, because clay will not stick to that so far, so good, if you want the edges to not be too sharp, go ahead and smooth it around now, bake it for 20 minutes at 275 degrees Fahrenheit once baked you're going to push it off of that bottle and be careful and here's the propeller so ideally make sure nobody's faces in the way and as unless. That was on purpose, now take a blob of clay. Put some liquid sculpey on your base and yeah: that's that's pretty Schmo. She. I love the feel of SH mushy things now going to place that hunk of clay - and I don't mean hunk as in I mean a hunk - isn't a chunk place it on your base until it looks like a beehive type, look they're going to place it in The freezer for about 15 minutes once it's out of the freezer, it's going to make cutting so much easier, so you're going to cut out the shape that you want for the ring. If I could go back in time, I would definitely make that top part. Just slightly a bit longer to make the shards look so much cooler and yeah. This is all the stuff that I shaved off. So don't be shy, guys once you're happy with what it looks like you're, going to bake it for 25 minutes at 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Once baked you're going to mix your mold maker according to package instructions, some of you asked me where I got the mold maker from. I just got it from any craft store, but you can definitely find it online as well for the mold container, I use the top part of a jello cup, a plastic bottom, and then I just kind of put them together with a glue gun. This is one of the fastest ways to make a mold holder place your ring and place the mold right on top. Let it cure overnight for some reason, because my room was pretty cold. It ended up taking about 15 hours, but if your room is pretty warm, it shouldn't take as long remove whatever parts of the mold that are in the way and don't remove the middle section. That'S where the finger would go, unmold it - and here you have it now to make the wood texture, take a bunch of tan and brown clay and you're going to smush and stretch them in the same direction. Each time and then fold it on itself. You'Re going to repeat that process until the lines get thinner and thinner and that you're happy with the texture. If you want to make a more textured kind of wood, you can also do that after baking, by cutting holes and doing a brown wash once you're happy with what it looks like you're, going to go ahead and put it in the mold once it's in the Mold cut off any excess clay, that's sticking out and don't worry too much what it looks like, because we can send that down later on, I'm going to cut off as much as you want from the top part. You can always remove more or less make some jagged lines with your cutter, I'm using Sophie and Toffees UV resin. So let's make some glitter. So this mixture is glitter and resin and I imagine that's pretty much how unicorn spit probably looks like so they fart rainbows and they spit glitter. Add some of that glitter mixture in there. Where were you the night of the craft epidemic? Where were you the night of the clay shortage, where were you the night? We'Re crafting was illegal, now take a UV light and you're going to shine it on the UV resin for it to harden now to make the top part of the ring take food, colors or UV resin colorant. https://felixfurniture.com/best-benchtop-jointer/ will both work equally well, mix them and then place them right in the mold. I love this color so much it's like an icy night shine it again with your UV light, or you can put it in a UV light that is for nails. They both work equally well now, you're going to unmold it and word of advice: do not unmold it immediately, because the UV light actually makes the clay weaker and more likely to break so be careful with that [, Music ], the back part, is not perfect. So you're just going to take a sandpaper, I use a 600 grit one and remove any imperfections now to make the wooden part glossy, take some resin and a brush and give it a nice coat. If you drop it, just forgive yourself and keep going, and here you have it some cute fake wood, resin rings. Of course, experiment have fun, do any color or wood texture that you want. All done. Don'T forget to add me on Twitter and Instagram. I'M really trying an effort to be more on Twitter, but not enough picture. Until then I would be good
