A Chinese man has had a seven-inch-long glass bottle removed from his rectum after he said he had accidentally inserted it into himself.
The patient, known as Mr Wen, told doctors that he was trying to use the container to scratch his itchy backside when it slipped into his body all of sudden.
The 60-year-old went to a hospital in southern China's Guangdong Province after finding it hard to walk with the two-inch-wide object jammed in his rear.
The man went to seek medical advice after finding it hard to walk. Medics at the Dongguan Hospital of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine in China found a seven-inch-long, two-inch-wide bottle in his rectum. The pictures above are file photos provided by the hospital
The medical case was reported by the Hospital of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the city of Dongguan.
Mr Wen went to the doctor on November 12 and was received by Dr Lin Jun, director of the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the hospital.
Through a physical examination, Dr Lin detected a hard object lodged in Mr Wen's rectum about two inches from his anus.
An X-ray check revealed that the item was a bottle.

The bottle was used to hold liquid used as a Chinese bug spray as the above file photo shows
Dr Lin arranged surgery immediately to extract the foreign object from the patient and the operation went smoothly.
It turned out that the bottle had been used to hold liquid used as a traditional Chinese mosquito repellent and itch soother.
Mr Wen told Dr Lin that he had tried to use the bottle to scratch his backside due to itchiness.
The patient was discharged from the hospital on the same day.
