There’s also a neat little term for this phenomenon – those in the know call it a brojob, as in a blowjob from a bro
This may not be news for some of you experienced folks but for the others, we’ve got an exciting piece of information for you: straight men are down for a fellatio from their bros. No homo.
There’s also a neat little term for this phenomenon – those in the know call it a brojob , as in a blowjob from a bro. Now, there’s NO WAY that this is a recent phenomenon – those in boarding schools have most likely experienced/seen this kind of thing happening all the time. It happens in fraternities and in situations where men are together for long periods of time. According to a few straight men interviewed for this piece, it’s just easy and clean – no strings attached.
“I mean, yeah, the first time is always weird but after a while, you’re like fuck it, you know?” Nischay Patil (name changed) said. Nischay met his ‘bro with benefits’ at the gym. The first time it happened, the 23-year-old had just broken up with his girlfriend and was looking to experiment.
(There are many straight men on gay dating apps who are looking to experiment)
For a blowjob to be considered a brojob, one of the men involved in the intimate act must identify as primarily straight. A brojob can take place between two straight men or a straight man and a gay man. There are the bisexual men, of course, but they don’t strictly fall under this specific umbrella.
Another reason that straight men go through with this act is that they feel it’s not supposed to happen. It’s risky, “doesn’t feel right” and is hence, very exciting. “It’s more of, like, you’re not supposed to do it kinda’ thing. Being straight, it just intrigues me. I don’t know. I like getting head and guys just seem to be better at it than girls because they have the package, I guess you could say. Another thing that intrigues me is the whole dick on dick thing. I don’t know how that got into my mind, why I like it. I can’t really explain it but something like that just turns me on,” said a certain ‘John’ to Substance .
Also, in the gay community, there’s a common consensus that boys do it better . “A girl could NEVER,” said a member of the community when interviewed for this piece.
(In the gay community, there’s a common consensus that boys do it better)
Many straight men also feel they can be more themselves with their bros. There’s a straight guy who started getting brojobs because he could ask for things that he didn’t feel he could say in front of girls. “He’s not easily surprised,” he says, laughing. In fact, there’s even an app for curious men called BRO. The BRO app claims to be an application that “goes beyond the hookup apps and is for men that are interested in meeting other guys”. There’s a setting on the app, however, which allows people to state that they are looking for “whatever, bro” which obviously means exactly what you think it means.
With discussions and debates about sexuality hitting their peak in recent years, more men are comfortable experimenting with each other. And they are really going for it . . . or at least, their bros are.

Forums > STDs > I am male I received an unprotected blowjob

I want to move on with my life but...I received unprotected insertive fellatio almost 40 days ago.  I have not had any symptoms except for headache, and a fear that I could be sick.  I had diarrhea for one day about 35 days post exposure and I had it for one day about a week post exposure.  So only two days of diarrhea a month apart.  I know the HIV risk is very low but I am engaged and this is the first time I have ever cheated.  I want to be sure before I am with my fiancee again that I am clean.  I got tested at about 7 days post exposure for syph, gon, chlamyd herpes 1 and 2 and hiv all came back negative.  I am now worried that I could pass HPV to her.  She is a great girl and I love her and want to move past this mistake.  The woman I was with had no visible sores I noticed no blood in her mouth.  My questions are.  What steps do I need to take before I have sex with my fiancee again to be completely sure I am clean?  Can I get HPV from getting a blowjob?  Could the diarrhea and headache be HIV?  How good would an HIV test be at 6 weeks?  If she gave me a ** and her mouth only touched half of my penis if I have a condom on could I really pass HPV to my fiancee?

Having reviewed my earlier answer, it appears that you want me to repeat myself so I will - once.

No I have not seen gential warts transmitted through oral sex.  In your situation I would consider the HIV test definitive and I see no reason for additional syphilis testing.  You are worrying too much.  No further repetitive questions please; they will be deleted without response. EWH

Have you ever seen a case of genital warts transmitted through oral sex?  I have a dark spot at the tip of my urethra and began to worry.  I had an HIV test at 6 weeks 3 days which was negative.  Should I now be tested for Syphilis.  Is the HIV test definitive?  I have a great deal of anxiety because I have only had intercourse with my fiancee.

If you are looking for encouragement to move on with your life, you have it from me.  The exposure that you describe was very, very low risk.  when you add that to the negative tests you have already had, you really have nothing to worry about.  Here are a few related comments:

1.  Of the bacterial STDs the only ones passed on by oral sex with any meaningful frequency are gonorrhea and NGU. You have been tested for them and do not have them.
2.  If you were going to get herpes, you would have had an outbreak by now.
3.  HPV is not transmitted through oral sex.  Further, since about 85% of all adults have HPV, even if you were to find out you had it, you would really have no idea of where it came from  You and or your GF, as well as your casual partner most likely already have it.
4.  HIV is a  non-issue. We quote the odds of getting HIV from oral sex as being less than 1 in 10,0000.  We also however acknowledge that his is a conservative estimate. Some experts think there is no risk at all  from oral sex.

In my opinion, you are fine and can resume sex with your GF.  You do not need further testing.  Hope this helps.  EWH

Herpes spreads by oral, vaginal and anal sex.

Herpes sores blister, then burst, scab and heal.

STIs are the most common cause of genital sores.

Millions of people are diagnosed with STDs in the U.S. each year.

STDs can't be transmitted by casual contact, like hugging or touching.

Syphilis is an STD that is transmitted by oral, genital and anal sex.

A wide range of sexually transmitted diseases, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, syphilis, genital warts (HPV) and hepatitis B can be transmitted during a blowjob -- in other words, when your penis is sucked or you suck someone else's penis.
There's a much lower risk of HIV being passed on, but it's not impossible.
Many sexually transmitted diseases can be passed on during close physical contact that may not involve exchange of body fluids. While using a condom during oral sex would reduce this risk to some extent, it won't eliminate it.
The risk of HIV transmission through oral sex is much less than that from anal or vaginal sex -- but it is not zero.
Sucking the penis of an HIV-infected man, with ejaculation in the mouth, is the oral sex activity that may occasionally involve HIV transmission. (Other forms of oral sex, including cunnilingus, are extremely low risk for HIV.) Factors that may increase the risk of HIV transmission when sucking a penis are oral ulcers, bleeding gums, genital sores and the presence of other sexually transmitted diseases.
Regular screening and testing for sexually transmitted diseases is important, especially if you had had oral sex with several partners since your last checkup. Also, if you are concerned about a recent sexual encounter that may have exposed you to HIV, the best way to resolve these fears is by getting an HIV test.
