Gustavo Petro's Lights and Shadows, the winner of The Historic Pact
Candidate Gustavo Petro confirmed on Sunday the favoritism that the polls had been highlighting for several weeks.

Another issue that has caused controversy is that he has repeatedly promised that he would end oil extraction the day that he becomes president, which has created uncertainty for investors as well as the market in general.

There were also questions raised about the legitimacy and independence of the Banco de la Republica.
Petro said that the Bank Board of Directors belonged to the Democratic Center and "What we would like is an independent Bank of the Republic (...) it seems crucial that the Board of Directors includes the participation of society members," the candidate stated during the debate.
