Bu açıdan Afrika partileri ve özellikle yığın partileri Prof. Neumann'm «sosyal bütünlük» partileri adını ver diği kümeye girmektedir. Bir başka deyişle bu partiler kendi üye ve yandaşlarının sosyal ihtiyaçlarını karşılamaya çalışırlar.

Parti ini ditubuhkan oleh Jeneral J.B.M. Hertzog pada Januari 1914 untuk merealisasikan ideologi Afrikaner dan nationalisme etnik. Parti ini berjuang ke arah pengasingan kaum, penubuhan republik dan membangkang pemerintahan British di Afrika Selatan serta survival budaya Afikaner.
