This book is a must read to understand more about RGV and film making. It’s like going on a ride with the camera and involving in to his biopic altogether. It reflects passion, honesty and childishness of an young man’s approach towards life. A detailed research in all the areas of cinema, technology and women has changed my perception towards filmmaking. My respect towards creative directors, movies and men has increased more after reading this book.
Interesting story of RGV .... Looking forward for his next film. My point of view towards his films have been changed (positive).
Very though provoking and hard hitting one from RGV. You made profound influence in the way I think. You intelligence is infectious.
There are some parts of the book that are interesting but mostly it is repetitive . Ramu's ideas are not original but mostly influenced by rationalists.
One of the cleverer guys out there. Great insights into his thought process and how he approaches his work.
How can a director be perceptive enough to make really moving cinema in "Satya", "Sarkar", "Sarkar Raj" and then just lose it all in " RGV - Sholay" and all in the middle - that's the story of Ram Gopal Varma, often referred to as RGV in Bollywood, or just "Ramu". His fascination for Amitabh Bachchan , and also ShriDevi, is interesting read. Rest all is just like his trade mark "Frames" in his movies - most of them portraying the underworld in some form or the other.

No guns and hardly any thighs discussed
Ram Gopal Verma aka RGV! The maverick! The man most responsible for bringing new flavor to the Bollywood of the 90s; rustic yet hyperrealistic aesthetics to Hindi movies. He gained a solid cult status. He's known for kickstarting a lot of careers, including Manoj Bajpayee and Anurag Kashyap among many others. By 2010, he had more bad films than good films. And now, he is known for his explicit Twitter rants and making highly publicised flop movies. This book is his extended blog/Twitter account, talking about life and movies. Most of the book is just talking about about what his thought process is. He doesn't dwell much into his later career. In fact, the latest this book goes (in terms of movies) is RGV ki Aag. We all know what happened to that (look it up kids). Some of his life recollections are fine. I really enjoyed the way he defined what (majorly) went wrong with RGV ki Aag. The guy admitted to a lot of the wrongdoings there, and took the blame for most of it. That said, this book is riddled with typos. Certainly needed proofreading. I got this dirt cheap on Kindle, and since I've appreciated his movies, I bought it. I didn't have anything to read this Sunday so dug into it. Wouldn't really recommend it to anyone except for fellow RGV enthusiasts.

A must read for RGV fans out there!
The man who put together art house movies (as they were called till late 90s) and commercial Hindu cinema together speaks his mind out in this book. Has lots of trivia about himself, his movies, his mind, his devil may care attitude and what he thinks about others.... if you have liked his iconic movies like Rangeela, Sathya, Company, Sarkar, Booth & Rakth Charitra etc you would definitely love this book...

This book will pleasantly surprise you
Its a fantastic read.. One gets an interesting insight into the thought process of RGV and I must say his candidness and bluntness is a pleasant surprise.. A lot of things he says make a whole lot of sense and he is brutally honest.. I finished reading the book in a day as I just couldnt put it down.. It is written in simple language and anecdotal which is great for all movie buffs..

Ok efforts..
Good in parts.. Ramu is nothing, if not brutally honest writer, as he is a film maker... At times the book seems to lose its plot, the narration becomes rambling and it all becomes somewhat boring.. On other occasions, at least in the few early chapters, the book captivates the reader well.. Worth a read for all Ramu fans..

AN AVERAGE BOOK
RGV is perhaps world cinema's biggest enigma. He oscillates between making such outstanding movies like SATYA, SARKAR AND SARKAR 2to complete duds like NAACH, RGV KI AAG, DEPARTMENT, and many others. Exactly the same situation with this book. Whew, this guy will never change! There's an absolute lack of consistency! 2.5 out of 5
