Background:

Xanthan gum is used as thickener in media to preserve food products, having cryoprotectant and antioxidant properties that may be relevant for sperm cryopreservation.

Objective:

To evaluate the effects of adding xanthan gum to freezing extenders on post-thawing quality and oxidant activity of ram sperm.

Methods:

Ejaculates from seven rams extended TRIS-egg yolk-glycerol were split in three treatments including xanthan gum (0.15%; 0.20%; and 0.25%) and a control with no xanthan gum.

Results:

After thawing, motility and production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) with 0.20% and 0.25% xanthan gum were lower than for the control (P < 0.05), but mitochondrial functionality and integrity of membrane, acrosome and DNA did not differ (P > 0.05). Xanthan gum at 0.20% and 0.25% may be an efficient antioxidant for frozen-thawed ram sperm, due to the reduction in ROS production.

I just recently had this happen to me for the first time. I ejaculated, and at first everything that came out was normal consistancy and everything, but at cleanup I noticed I had some on myself that was dangling around my tip. I tried to wipe it but it wouldn't come. I pulled on it with my fingers to find that it was somewhat solid, and a helluva lot stretchy, more like a solid mucus than sperm. It felt like one of those gooey sticky hands that you fling around and they stick to things when you're a kid.

A little more seeped out of the same consistancy.

Is this normal or should I be worried?

Hi,
I am not sure what exactly is causing this but there are several things that people say could make your sperm be this way. Many say that this might be influenced by the food that you eat. I don’t know if you realized this but food can have mach influence on sperm production. The thing is that food can make your sperm taste differently and it can cause the quantity of it also. Have you changed anything in your diet in past several days or even weeks?
The most sever cause might be that something is wrong with your testicles. But this has to be checked in the hospital by the doctor, because it is hard to diagnose something like this without tests.

There is even variation in color, including opaque white, transparent, and yellowish. Some people find drinking more water, drinking less alcohol and masterbating more often sometimes solves the problem. You say you went for an STI test, did you discuss with the clinic about your sperm issue and what did they suggest? The fact that you are experiencing pain however we would suggest you see you local GP/Doctor to discuss this further to rule out any other underlying condition. Regarding your white pearly penile papules, the fact you know what they are called shows you have done your research. This are perfectly normal, nearly all men have these, some have more and bigger than others, this are just the glans of the penis and should not be worries about, again the fact you have had a STI test confirms these are unlikely to be anything other than your glans.

Good day everyone, I'm very scared,before when I masturbate,my sperm comes out well and its whitish,then I fell I'll,my urine color is very different,the color is thick,I tried drinking lots of water its not still changing at all,then I tried masturbating,what I saw made me fear,when I was about to cum,it wasn't whitish,it was like normal liquid which has small brown lumps like cough.
