Guitar Tabs Viewer

Last updated: April 22, 2026

Guitar Tabs Viewer ("the App") lets you view and play Guitar Pro tablature files on your Android device, and includes a chromatic tuner. This policy describes what data the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

The App does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location. The App collects anonymous, aggregate usage and crash analytics through Firebase services to help us improve stability and performance. These reports do not contain information that personally identifies you. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising networks.

Microphone Access

The App includes a built-in chromatic tuner that requires microphone access to detect pitch. Audio from the microphone is processed entirely on your device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Microphone access is used only while the tuner screen is open. You can deny this permission and still use all other features of the App.

File Access

The App uses Android's Storage Access Framework to let you open Guitar Pro tablature files (.gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gpx) from your device, cloud drives, email attachments, or messaging apps. Tab files are read and played back entirely on your device — they are not uploaded to any server.

The App may show a menu shortcut to a community tabs library hosted on an external website. Tapping that shortcut opens the website in your default browser, outside the App. Anything you do on that external website (browsing, downloading) is governed by that website's own privacy practices, not this policy.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following Google services:

  • Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
  • Firebase Crashlytics — crash diagnostics
  • Firebase Remote Config — feature flag delivery
  • Firebase App Check — verifies that requests come from a genuine copy of the App
  • Cloud Firestore — fetches a public configuration document that controls feature visibility (no personal data)

These services are governed by Google's privacy policies. The App does not integrate any advertising networks, third-party trackers, or analytics outside of Firebase.

Analytics

Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as screen views and feature interactions. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out of data collection from your device settings (Settings → Apps → Guitar Tabs Viewer → Permissions).

Children's Privacy

The App does not require an account and does not collect personal information. Tab viewing and the tuner are safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected here with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
