As a society, we seem to have a hard-on for watching folks with large-sized differentials interact. From Gulliver’s Travels to Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman and, more recently. The Magic School Bus, Rick and Morty, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids, we love exploring media that includes people who are an impossible size.
It’s no wonder that a rather large group of folks have sexualized this interest.
Giantess fetish, or Macrophilia, is sexual arousal related to giant people, where “macro” means big and “philios” means love. The emphasis is on height, not width, with the giants usually being proportional to humans but sometimes over one hundred times the size of regular humans. The inverse of this fetish is microphilia, which involves fantasizing about being a giant having sexual power over tiny people.
Limited research on these fetishes has shown that exploring female domination and vulnerability tend to be the draw of macrophilia.
The dom/sub-component arouses some because size can be a way to exert power, with tiny people being particularly suspendable to being submissive. If a giant can put you in their mouth or pocket and have their way with you, you are entirely at their mercy.
Although anybody can hold this sexual fantasy, the bulk of the community involves submissive men that are turned on by the idea of being crushed by skyscraper-sized ladies.
Perhaps this community consists mainly of men because men already have more power and are physically larger. As a result, there’s no need to eroticize large men because we are confronted with them every day.
The higher incidence of this fetish in men may also be because men tend to be more likely to have a fetish in general than femme folks and straight women.
A minority of macrophiles enjoy playing around with realistic size differences. For example, if a 5 foot two person dated a seven-foot person, they would essentially be dating a giant. As one Reddit user explains:
“Since I was a kid, I dreamed about girls a lot bigger than me, like 3 meters +. And the girls I liked in school were really tall. I’d go as far to say I find girls taller than me 100%+ sexier and 20% cuter per extra inch.”
However, experimenting with real size differences is just a minority of this community. Most are into more extreme differences where one partner puts a speck on the other’s toe.
An experience of sexual imprinting can lead to developing a giant women fetish. For example, a young person encounters a large woman that towers over them. It can also develop through trauma. For example, someone or something nearly squashes a young person, reframing it as a sexual feeling.
It’s also possible that during childhood, children may have felt they had to take on the responsibility of a parent too young, fantasizing about a large enough parent to handle the duties.
“I had it since I was a kid. Back then, perhaps it had something to do with feeling unsafe or shy and the fantasy of having an invincible female protector who could help me whenever I needed it, or maybe something I was born with. One of the main points is how powerful a giant would be. For example, 50ft gigantic women could lift a car or crush someone using one hand easily. The attraction for me is knowing she could use this power to instantly kill me if she wanted. But if she chooses to talk normally or be my gf, I think it’s very cute and hot.”
People can also develop a giant fetish through classical conditioning. Perhaps, as a child, the macrophile viewed a movie showing a gigantic woman, and this memory became encoded as significant and paired with an early sexual feeling.
For example, if a person watches a movie with giants and pairs it with sexual feelings, in time, the two emotions can become linked. And the movie is enough to elicit sexual arousal.

“I have had the fetish longer than I’ve actually known anything about sex at all. As weird as that sounds, I’m not kidding. I used to think about giant women at night before I went to bed as a child of 6 years. I didn’t know why at the time. But it was a fairly often thing for me. Then, of course, time passed, and I slowly realized women were not just things to throw rocks at in the schoolyard. And I realized my particular tastes had a name after googling ‘giant women’ one fateful night. And here we are.”
2015 was the year for giant porn, where on Pornhub, it grew 1091 percent from the year before. It’s not a mainstream fetish as a foot fetish, but folks seem to be very interested in this topic.
When you search for giant porn now, the term gets almost 10,000 hits, some videos with millions of views. There are also online forums like GiantessCity.com , with nearly 100,000 members!
Of course, since we can’t physically shrink people, so much of macrophile porn consists of photos or videos that distort size with the help of photoshop and editing.
Media showing macrophile porn can include plastic people being swallowed or crushed under a large body. It can also contain stories, comics, photographs, and colleges that aren’t explicitly sexual but include a giant reaping havoc or hanging out being big.
A giantess kink may be hard to explore in the real world unless you happen to be a very short person looking to make love to the largest person you can find.
However, there has been some talk of a virtual reality headset that can place macrophiles in a world where they can live out their sexual pleasure. Many forums discuss the excitement of this possibility as something that will happen very soon.
Ask your partner what kink excites them. Perhaps you can take point of view pictures from a low angle, so it looks like they are looking up at you. Use dirty talk. For example, say you will swallow them or use their body as a tiny dildo so they can’t breathe or see. Perhaps you want to put them in your pocket and forget about them.

Macrophilia is a fascination with or a sexual fantasy involving giants, most commonly expressed as giantesses (female giants). [1] [2] It is typically a male fantasy, with the male playing the "smaller" part. [2] The male may be depicted as entering, being dominated by, or being eaten by the larger woman. [3] [2] Others involve partners who naturally have a significant difference in size.

Online communities refer to this subculture as macro fetish or GTS fetish , an abbreviation of "giantess" and sometimes the backronym "giant tiny sex". [4] [5] [6]

Although macrophilia literally translates to simply a "lover of large," [1] in the context of a sexual fantasy, it is used to denote attraction to beings larger than themselves. Generally, the interest differs between macrophiles, and depends on gender and sexual orientation. Macrophiles often enjoy feeling small and being abused, degraded, dominated, or eaten, [7] and they often view the much taller being as powerful and dominating. [ citation needed ]

Psychologist Mark Griffiths speculates that the roots of macrophilia may lie in sexual arousal in childhood and early adolescence that is accidentally associated with giants. [8]

Speculating on why there are not as many female macrophiles, psychologist Helen Friedman theorized that women who already view men as dominant and powerful have no need to fantasize about it. [1] Women who take on the roles of the giantess within this fetish often find the practice to be empowering and enjoy being worshipped. [7] [9]

The internet has played an important role in helping to develop the fetish. [1] The pornography site Pornhub 's 2015 annual report showed that compared to 2014, the biggest increase in search topic was giantess, which had a 1091 percent gain in searches. [10] There also existed an exhibit at the Museum of Sex titled "Kink: Geography of the Erotic Imagination" which explored many different fantasies, including macrophilia. [11] [12]

Online content creators have also developed homemade media that has helped grow the fetish's reach. [13] In addition to generating content across websites, some content creators have even branded themselves in ways that helped them generate a following and gain revenue for their work. [14] After data was gathered from 4,814,732 videos on clips4sale, an established porn site, it was found that "giantess" was the 34th most popular category. [15]

The macro community has produced fiction writing, digital art, and collages on websites such as DeviantArt and Pixiv . Dedicated macrophilia websites include Giantess World and the Giantess City forums. Karbo, Eskoz, and AshkiiWolf are among the more popular artists. [16]

Macrophilia video games have also been developed; Sizebox is a sandbox game in which players import models and create scenes. [17] Resize Me! is an anime VR game in development; the player is gradually shrunken by their childhood friend and toyed with. [17]
