The varied femme cast provides plenty of beauty but Adult Time's prolific new-hire director tandem of Casey Calvert & "Eli Cross" fumble the ball. I found unwatchable the lengthy set-up to the title vignette, led by Calvert herself as leader of a focus group testing four young women (porn actresses it turns out) on their reaction to Adult Time content. Meant to be tongue-in-cheek, patter goes on and on as Casey and the girls slavishly praise Adult Time (which is responsible for their real-life paychecks) and even explicitly name-drop the label's femme directors Bree Mills, Joanna Angel and yes, Casey Calvert. Makes you want to puke. Scene is ultra-cheap, set in an unfurnished room, with the gals ultimately pawing each other once Calvert has exited. Maya Kendrick stands out, by virtue of her red hairdo. And Maya returns in another four-girl scene "A Tight Squeeze". All four of them are bored, until host Lily Glee (in a strictly NonSex role) suggests they play a party game named "Sardines". It's a version of Hide and Seek, where the seeker who finds someone immediately hides with them, and another seeker goes looking. Lovely Miss Glee goes last, so we watch the other girls have a twosome, expanding later to a lesbian threesome staged in a closet-sized poorly lit space, underwhelming for porn photography. Glee catches them in the act, but scene is over before she can get her licks in. Remaining segment is another foursome, as the gals sit on a bed excited about the upcoming Gay Pride March (scene is titled "Her First Pride"). Center of attention is busty Black newcomer Hazel Grace, who ends up being pawed by redhead Sabina Rouge, Morgan Rain and Ashlee Juliet.

Some of the negative reviewers have a point. The extreme brevity of these 60 works hardly allows for the development of character and plot expected of a story. Yet this economy of words also provides this collection with its strength and delight. Faced with a severe word limit, most contributors go for the racy and the explicit. That, I suspect, is what most readers want -- and get. More interesting, to my taste at least, are those other contributors who take a different approach. Often they opt for the subtle and understated, for the erotic over the plainly sexual. What's lost due to the word limit is made up for by the reader's imagination. Some examples are * Nikki Magennis's two very short (each less than 150 words) contributions ("Madrid" and "Sweets") of pure description. Personalize them with details of your life. * Mary Borsellino's "Cartwheels and Strays" plays with two metaphors as one might expect from poetry. * August MacGregor's "The First Time He Was Jealous" explores with hands and with an artist's pencil parts of human anatomy often skipped over in the rush to get it on. and, most of all, * Carmel Lockyer's "The West Pier", which is at once the least racy and most memorable story of the collection. As many reviewers have noted, the diversity of these "short shorts" is one of the strengths of this collection. Surprises lurk. The best surprises implore the reader to ask, "Why then did I like this story so much? What does it say about me?"
Everyone knows that having a "quickie" is a great way to keep the passion alive in a relationship and it can be even more fun with a stranger in a completely unexpected place. This book is like a virtual quickie in every sense of the word. Short stories are great for a quick read before you go to bed to have a little fun but these are super-super short stories that will give you a quick "pick me up" while you're at a red light or in line at the drive-thru. They are that short. More importantly they are THAT good! You should NOT read this book as a book. This is nothing but pure, unadulterated, freaky, sensual, in your face, in your body, animalistic, wanton, Roman-type carnality sex. You buy this book for two reasons and two reason only... to get turned on and to turn on! Get this book at your local bookstore, call your honey, read one of these stories (again, they are super-short so it's perfect), go home to find them waiting for you, call in "sick" the next day because you'll be too tired from the previous night. Reading a sexual story can be a great aphrodisiac and this book is a great start.

Years ago someone said the key to a great People Magazine article was that it should be no longer than the average person takes to take the average.... For this very reason the stories in the Frenzy collection are great to read alone or share. Within the first page the reader can usually see what kind of sex they are about to be in for. The stories range among a variety of tastes, plain to kinky, and everything in between. Most of the authors included set up tension and sex scenes with wit and tight writing. The editor, Anne Tyler, also an author, has assembled a talented group. Although many of the authors are female, and so write from a female point of view, I had no trouble inspiring the man I read them to to grabbing the book out of my hands AND asking for another reading session the next time!
I bought this book hoping for some steamy stories that would help keep things hopping in the bedroom. There are a lot of variety as far as what kind of stories are in the book, which is good, but they are a little too short for my taste. Most are literally 1-2 pages long, which doesn't allow for much character development. I guess that I like to feel like I know my characters a little bit more than what a page or two allows. Overall it's not a bad book, but if you are looking for really down and dirty stories, don't look here. If you are looking for a "quicky" type of story, this book would be right up your alley.
The title really does say it all, and I mean that in both a good and bad way. I got this yesterday and zipped through it. It started out as a potential disappointment, going absolutely TOOOOO quick, no detail, no real allure. I understand capturing the sensuality in brevity, but the stories chosen could have been stronger. HOWEVER Once I hit the set stage of sexy pirates, I had to smile. While some stories move far too quick to pull that tingle, the ones that take their time are well worth it.
I enjoyed this collection of vignettes, however, most were either too graphic and literal or two removed/obtuse for my taste. Although this work is in a higher category altogether than most erotic out there, I was still slightly disappointed. That said, I believe it would fit into any erotic library well and has many merits to recommend it. It is well written, clever and erotic. Overall, I would recommend it.
Its just OK, nothing great. the stories are so short that it would barely get a guy going and would probably take a woman most of the book. Also the writers could be better with there descriptions.

I have just finished this book and really enjoyed it. It has 60 short stories so very easy just to pick up if you only have a coulpe of minutes or a quick read whilst partner is in the bathroom!
Boring, boring, boring! Leave it where it is as I don't believe it's worth the postage let alone the price.
These are short stories written by a variety of male and female authors. These stories are not highly charged, but will help to wet your whistle. I found the stories were not as graphic as I had hoped.
