KANSAS University cheerleaders were made to strip naked during a “humiliating” initiation ceremony.
New recruits were blindfolded, stuffed into a washing machine and cardboard boxes, before being ordered to strip in front of male squad members, it has been revealed.
One victim was so traumatised she left the university before finishing her studies, News.com.au reports.
The university launched an investigation into the incident following complaints by the victims that cheerleading coaches allowed the hazing to take place on a yearly basis.
As a result the whole squad have been put on a year-long probation.
Two team members, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were abused during an “initiation” event for six first-year members last July, while the team was on campus for a children’s summer camp.
The cheerleaders arrived at Kansas football’s Memorial Stadium in running shoes, per the team’s orders, and were told to sprint up and down a hill.
The older team members then blindfolded them, placed them in cars one by one and brought them inside an empty house, the two victims said.
One said she was forced inside of a washing machine, while the other said she was put in a cardboard box and jostled around as they banged on the sides.
They were then frogmarched into another room and asked a series of questions.
For each question they answered incorrectly, they were required to remove an article of clothing.
Eventually standing there naked, the six cheerleaders allegedly were taken into another room, while one of them said she remembered being separated from the group.
“I had taken my blindfold off along with another girl sitting next to me, and two alumni guys walked in and saw us naked,” she told student newspaper, The Kansas State Collegian.
Split into two groups, two of the cheerleaders said to have been taken downstairs and deemed “initiated,” while the others were subjected to public shaming.
“They took me and two other girls, put us in a room together and told us we are ugly, we don’t deserve to be on the team and our skills weren’t good enough,” one of the cheerleaders said.
“They sat us down with all the alumni and all returning cheerleaders.”
The incident has left the two cheerleaders emotionally traumatised, they said, leading one to leave the school permanently.
“The reason why I’m leaving KU is solely because the university and the athletic department decided to treat me and my other teammates like we didn’t matter and were instead just pretty faces for the media,” she said.
Kansas’ cheerleading team came under national controversy in November 2016 when a photo surfaced on Snapchat showing four team members, three male and one female, wearing matching Jayhawks sweaters emblazoned with “K” on the front, with the caption “Kkk go trump.”
The university temporarily suspended the cheerleaders from competition as a result.

Watching the insanity unfold from a window overlooking the golf course, a woman can be heard telling a police dispatcher, "Hey, let me cut to the point," at the onset of the call.
"You got four white women on golf tee No. 17," she continued. "Woman has taken her clothes off and her golf partner is hitting the ball as the tee is in her vagina. It is now in her a**. So, you might want to know that."

A woman was stripped, beaten and chased down the street. The humiliating crime was recorded then posted to social media.
FRESNO, Calif. -- A woman was stripped, beaten and chased down the street. The humiliating crime was recorded then posted to social media.
Right now police want the public's help finding the people in the video.
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says it will take some work to track down the suspects, but his gang officers are after them.
The laughter heard in the video is almost haunting after you see what the people do to the 20-year-old victim.
In one clip you see a woman in a red tank-top punch and swing at her as she's forced to take off her clothes in an open field in the middle of the day.
"All during the time that you have individuals which are part of the bulldog gang barking at her," Chief Dyer said.
Dyer is disturbed watching the video, he said, especially since the attackers and bystanders recorded it and then posted it to Facebook instead of trying to stop the attack.
"We're going to be continuing to pursue this case," he said. "But we need people to come forth with information in this case."
At one point the victim is begging to be left alone, and a man walks right by the naked woman, without offering help.
Later in the video the victim is seen running from the woman attacking her while still naked, passing by several apartment complexes, and no one calls 911.
Dyer says even the victim is offering little help right now. "When people go through that kind of situation, they're not as likely to provide as much information as we'd like," he said. "But that's normal somebody that's been victimized to that degree. So we're continuing to work with her."
Here's where the public can help, police need to track down who they say is the main aggressor. Her street name is "Baby Dreamer." Her real name is unknown right now. But police say her crime is clear.
They also need help finding the other people in the video, like a guy in a red shirt who appears to be recording the assault as well.
This assault happened Saturday in a Central Fresno field. The video was posted just a short time later. It has since been removed from Facebook and is now in the hands of investigators.
One of the clips was recorded on a tablet that police recovered with a search warrant because of the Facebook post. It was posted by a teenager. Chief Dyer says in addition to tracking down and charging the four suspects they're working to see if that teen could face criminal charges.

This is the shocking moment a woman is paraded around her office naked while her colleagues cheer her on in a 'morale-boosting stunt' organised by her boss.
In footage reminiscent of a scene in The Wolf of Wall Street, the brunette walks up and down as suited salesmen line up on either side of the office, wolf whistling and cheering her on.
She was wearing nothing but dark sunglasses and black boots as she strutted around the salesroom in Warsaw, Poland.

In the film The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio's character hires a group of strippers to run around the office and dance on tables.
According to local reports, the Polish female employee was paid by her boss to perform the outrageous strip walk to motivate other employees.
At one point the unidentified woman, who works in an office where salesmen and women call customers and persuade them to buy stocks, is seen showing her middle finger to the camera.
Moments later she she gets dressed and goes back at her desk to work.
Viewers have now reacted with fury.
One calling themselves Buu posted: 'The world is ending ... people behave like animals for what .... for a piece of paper they sell themselves, lose their dignity and respect. Sad and pathetic.
Another called Mossad wrote: 'No values, money rules this filthy world.'
While someone called Adam commented: 'The boss should be ashamed of himself. And so should she.'
But others defended the striptease.
Kalksztain posted: 'I do not understand the scandal. The boss challenged the girl and she has nothing to be ashamed of. She has a beautiful figure.'

While Elf81 wrote: 'I do not understand this indignation. The girl wanted to go naked and did. I do not like it but let's not be so prudish. I get the impression that some here have never seen a naked women before.'
According to local reports, the woman in the video resigned shortly after it appeared on social media.
Psychotherapist Katarzyna Kucewicz told local media: 'The situation she is in is undoubtedly traumatising. This is just like with rape. In the case of rape the trauma grows over time. And here it may be similar, in the first weeks this girl may feel reconciled with what she did, maybe even laugh.
'But we do not know yet whether she will begin to get symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Our psyche is more fragile than we realise.'
