Hi, my friend and I are looking for a vacation in January. We have found a good price to Weare Cadaques... but the flight goes into Santo Domingo . How far is it to Cadaques in La Romana?? Also would this be a good choice for two mature ladies, who are looking for quiet relaxation, nice room. We are not foodies but do like to eat, so as long as food is edible thats ok. We have been to many resorts in Dominican Republic before, but if anyone has ideas, we are open to them.
Fellow Granny here, just returned from visit to Dreams La Romana with son and grandchildren. This is a great resort for us oldies, nice and flat, but no lifts (elevators) so you might want to ask for a ground floor room. Plenty of our age group there enjoying themselves mightily.
No idea about Cadaques though, sorry.
Hope they were following your stay so they know how to get shade if they want.

Curious about your routing through to Santa Domingo from YYZ. Most Canadian carriers go to Punta Cana and then provide transportation (45 minutes) to Bayahibe , which is included in your package. I think maybe WestJet may also go to, or used to go to LaRomana. Are you going through the U.S.? I believe Santa Domingo is 45 minutes from Bayahibe, but I stand to be corrected

My 73 year old mother and her 77 year old sister went with us to Dreams LaRomana back in June for my daughter's wedding. They requested and were granted a ground floor room and had an awesome time. They loved the variety of the ala cartes for dinner and how everything was nearby with such a large resort.
Que Pasaaa, Westjet no longer flies to La Romana. I was looking for flights into Santo Domingo and couldn't find anything out of Toronto. All of the carriers I checked flew into Punta Cana .
We went to Weare Cadaques last Christmas (Dec 2016). The elevator in our building worked just fine all week. We had only one bed in our room and the room was small, verify that you are getting a room with two beds if you don't want to share a queen bed. There are only three floors in the buildings.
Food was good, service needed improvement.
We flew into Punta Cana so can't help with the Santo Domingo aspect.
May go back next month, still trying to decide between DR and Cuba . Where will the weather will behave better? Hmmmm.
Nanalovestotravel - Cadaques is (in my opinion) the best resort in Bayahibe / Dominicus area (also some call it La Romana area because it's close to La Romana city). It is very nice and quiet, so that could be a great choice for you. It's just beside the East National park, so you can also go for a walk there. It was built like a small Mediterranean town, so you won't even feel like in a resort. The ride from SDQ is only about 55 - 60 minutes and the taxi cost is 100 USD each way. Almost the same travel time like from PUJ and the same price.
CathyintheSun - the weather is usually the same in Cuba as in DR, sometimes Cuba gets a bit more rain during the hurricane season, depending on the weather systems moving by.
