I'd like to start stocking up and idk which ones to buy. Should I go up a size in the granny panties to be able to fit the big pads? How many pairs should I buy? Also what brands/kinds of pads should I buy? I don't normally buy pads and all the different kinds looked a little overwhelming. They had long, overnight, etc. Should I buy the Depends diapers too? How long did you wear the diapers for? TIA!

Try on grannies now. This should be an base indicator of what size you will be after LO arrives. I bought enough to get me through a week's worth of laundry. Definitely buy the long overnight ones just incase. I would also buy regular ones. Hopefully you won't need overnights for too long. Just buy a pack of each. Unless you live really far from a store. Everyone is different, but this was helpful for me. I did not use diaper types.

My hospital provided me with maxis (and sent me home with them). I prefer ones without wings. That's totally up to you. Buy a small package of a few different kinds and figure out what works best. They will also show you how to make an ice pack with a newborn diaper.
As far as panties go, I just take old ones that I don't mind throwing away. I have to go up a size during pregnancy anyway. If you're buying new, just get cheap all cotton briefs or bikinis (not low rise) in a size up.
i just bought regular cotton underwear the same size i always wear. this time i have to get a size bigger because i think i gained all my weight on my butt LOL i used overnights a night time just so i didnt leak and then during the day just regular pads like medium thickness. it was just like having a regular period for me just a lot longer. i bled for 6 weeks. so i bought quite a few packs.

Whatever size you would wear now should be fine. You don't need a size bigger to accommodate a pad. My hospital gave mesh underwear and a package of the HUGE pads and I didn't wear them at all when I came home. I wore Kotex thin regulars with wings, which would have been fine in the hospital too, I didn't have super heavy bleeding except maybe the first pad after birth. You certainly don't NEED adult diapers but I can see how they could be easier to deal with if you have very heavy bleeding. This time I plan to take reg pads with me and wearing my own panties. Don't buy a whole lot of any one thing in case you don't like them.
It all depends on your own body and recovery! With my son, I had stitches and was in a lot of pain! So I wanted larger underwear and room for a big pad. I also bought tucks wipes and would lay a couple of those on the pad. I bled for 4 weeks, sometimes moderate, sometimes light but for 4 weeks straight nonetheless. I think I used the long ones but I don't think depends are necessary.
I second Always Infinity overnight pads!! They are the best and are breathable so they are not nearly as itchy or hot like some of those giant pads. I took a lot of the hospital shorts home and you can actually buy them too. I'm all about wearing what is comfortable and breathable with soreness and stitches you want comfort.
I would also recommend numbing spray and cortisone cream. I had a few stitches and those were life savers!
