15 hours ago Show All About Me Granny Marigold A journal of activities and thoughts where I write about my very ordinary life. I'm a wife, mom, and granny. I enjoy decorating my house for the seasons. I love flowers and most of the large city lot we live on is devoted to shrubs and perennials.

Life at Granny's House is full of laughter, friendship, books, music, lively debate, writing, and good things to eat. My days are made even more meaningful by coming alongside other moms, giving them the support and encouragement that I lacked as a young mother and helping them to network with each other in ways that strengthen homes and families.
My Granny was never a person who wanted or thrived for attention. She went about her daily activities -- taking care of her family, gardening, housekeeping, caring for people in our community -- and never expected anything in return.
This mother of three daughters has become granny to five: two girls, three boys, all much loved children, all individuals to be nurtured. With mid-summer behind us and next Christmas now closer than last, time rushes by in busyness.

well it has been almost 4 years ago that we moved granny to iowa. i wish that i would have thought about having a blog before now. there are so many memories and stories that i should have put to print but at least i have them in my memories. two weeks ago today we moved her to our home. at the age of almost 92 she has had a good life and been able to live alone.

One happy Granny!! Some of the restrictions put in place to keep everyone safer are gradually being lifted so we can travel intrastate and restaurants and pubs are open for small groups. I was able to see the family on Mother's Day and a couple of times since then which has been brilliant.

I have a granny bike and I like to ride in style, which in my book is wearing nice tweed plus sixes or skirts, with matching jacket, coat or a jumper depending on the season, and knitted accessories.
